Now calm down, you heard me correctly. An angry lizard carrying a magical globe on its back which shows a picture of a Victorian lady. A man, with a wolf’s head I might add, stands peering in to the globe has his hand reaches towards it. What’s so strange about that eh?

WTF?
I think we need to have a special category just for Mercedes Lackey covers.
That is so many shades of awful. I just don’t know where to begin…

Yea she does seem to have pretty bad covers. So many browns.
You just have to love them, in a kinda, what the hell way.

I like the idea than the Wizard/wolfman has summoned this image in the crystal ball, except the image is facing away from him, how the hell is he even meant to see her face? what a loser
neverminding the sureallness of the whole picture, the background is totally out of perspective and makes my brain sore.

It’s so baffling, visually speaking! Actually, speaking in any sense at all! I’ve been staring at it for ages … in fact my eye was so confused that for one long minute I thought the ‘Patricia Cornwell’ spine was actually part of the Lackey cover, and that that’s what the dragon is scowling, angrily, at! That’s how confusing it is!

This is really too strange to know what to say.
The background is making my brain hurt. And how is that crystal ball on lizard thing working. Its just madness, damn it!

I’m sure there is something in the animal rights act that says you aren’t allowed to put a magic globe on a living creature.
Maybe he’s wearing a wolves head cause the globe is two way,
women: “john…. I know it’s you…”
wolf head: “eject eject eject!”

In the cover’s defense, this is pretty much exactly a scene from the book.

Needs more fire. And roses.
