Art Direction: I don’t know how you did it when you worked for others but here at New English Library, we go out and get drunk. Then take LSD. Then run around the countryside for a good weekend continually engaging in any type of physical fulfillment we can find. Whatever you’ve drawn by the end we’ll shove on some cover.

My dad had this book and I always thought the cover was really creepy… sort of like the astronaut is going through his own personal apocalypse. Actually, I still think it’s creepy. Brr!

  2. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

When traveling towards Epsilon, it is an all-or-nothing proposition. That is, part of you can’t stay behind while the other part of you goes on.

The only saving grace of this cover would be if it somehow related to one of the stories inside. But you would have to be Lovecraft or Lem to write something as horrid as that cover.

Invisible toilet bowls on transportation to Epsilon.

  4. A.R.Yngve Says:

Illustrating the featured story “Eraser”, no doubt.

  5. SI Says:

I’ve figured it out… those are not his legs! Who’s he nicked them from? Eh?

  6. NGpm Says:

A tiger perhaps? Or two men posing as a tiger?

  7. A.R.Yngve Says:

“Boss! The artist was coming over with the cover art for the new book… then he slipped and fell. The art fell into the gutter and was smeared! Deadline’s in two hours? What’ll we do?!”

“It’s no use… we’ll go with the cover as it is.”
