I actually like the font, and the tagline is very effective. But all the purple? Good grief! And the glass lampshade with the glitter inside it that the chappie is wearing over his face… just no. Even if you’re the first human being on earth, that’s never going to be a good idea.
@Herm, quite disagree about the tagline. It’s as though they weren’t satisfied with the ‘deadly’ play on words, or it failed in the focus group, or some such. So they tagged that last bit on there to say, ‘Yes, it really is scary inside here. We’re not fibbing!’
Is his teardrop TING!ing? Oh, eh, sad in paradise, that won’t do!
Are you sure that’s a man? It was 1971. That looks like a typical late ’60s female model to me, with white lipstick and heavy eye makeup. And the — um — head thing looks a lot like some of the dumb-looking high fashion hats inspired by astronauts at the time.
Maybe an early example of why photographic covers don’t work too well in imaginative genres.
