Is the author any relation to Bob Scarborough Ferris? Also, something’s delicious, but the quote has been cut off by the top of the photo – was it a quote from the now sated dragon?

  2. Phil Says:

The woman seems to be falling off a giant yorkshire pudding.

  3. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

Of course the dragon’s laughing at you, miss…you’re much too heavy to be on the kiddies’ tyre swing in the middle of the swamp.

  4. Espedair Says:

I like the guys rescue outfit and the jaunty way in which he is trying to save her!

  5. Tom Noir Says:

“Don’t worry, my damsel! I’ll save you from the developmentally challenged dragon!”

  6. Alessandra Kelley Says:

Vincent Segrelles painted the cover, and I don’t think it’s a bad one. The dragon is a little heterodox, sure, but I view that as a plus. And that breathless sense of the moment just before milady plonks into the swamp in that nice dress is priceless.

  7. fred Says:

Little known fact. This is also the cover for “Wet Muddy Dress of Sorcery”.

  8. Yoss Says:

I don’t think the dragon is the bad guy in this. See how calm the water is around him? He’s just leaning against a tree and chilling out. Sure he’s laughing a bit, but you can’t fault him for that.

  9. Jerk of all Trades Says:

I guess the dragon uses those itty bitty wings like fins when he swims.

  10. Jerk of all Trades Says:

I gotta agree with Yoss – the croco-dragon’s probably too big to think much of humans as anything but hors d’oeuvres or entertainment. He’s hanging out in the river because he lives in the area, but also because he’s got a fantasy-equivalent-of-a-hippo carcass stashed underwater and is more than a little paranoid about someone stealing it before it ripens to his taste.

  11. Phil Says:

Speaking of fantasy-equivalents-of-a-hippo-carcass, see TODAY’s post:

  12. A.R.Yngve Says:

Obviously, the dragon is looking at the tripping damsel and shouting “HA-HA!!”

  13. Claire Says:

I’ve got this book in a more restrained Brit cover. This has just reminded me how great they are so I’m going to revisit them. Thanks.

  14. Herm Says:

    Long eyelashes for a reptile/pseudo-reptile…

I hope that’s not a tremendously hackneyed way of telling us it’s female.

  15. Herm Says:

Oh, and +1 for soon-to-be-submerged cat peeping out of coracle.

  16. Anti-Sceptic Says:

“*hick* Come back here *hick*….you two. I’m not gonna *hick*….wa’ wash I shaying again?
