Wizards, well known for their harp riffs.Click for full image

Alessandra Comments: There’s a failure of perspective in the building.  Where exactly is it supposed to be?  Is it falling down?  How big is it? Oh never mind, just keep your eyes on the guy in the bright purple Renaissance fair outfit.

Ooh, purple and orange. I predict that this style will be making a huge comeback in 2012.

  2. Rachel J Says:

Lego Minas Tirith there looks like it’s at *least* nine feet tall, and must use *thousands* of individual Lego bricks. Really, I don’t know what you’re laughing about!

  3. THX 1138 Says:

Looks like the chap with the crown is in the wrong aspect ratio. Or maybe he is that wide.

Oh, and is it Hed or Med? Biiig difference.

  4. Phil Says:

Riddle-Master of Med or Riddle-Haster of Hed or…

Liking his frilly boots. Not liking the odd “let’s build more turrets on these turrets, but only on the one side” castle architecture.

  5. Chris Reynolds Says:

Maybe the tiny turrets jutting out of the bigger turrets are supposed to be the latrines?

  6. Topy Says:

If M C Escher designed a castle, it might look something like this.

  7. Frank Says:

    ..The Riddle Master ON Med….

    Hey, Merlin! Play some Stones!

  9. A.R.Yngve Says:

Actually, medieval buildings were not only built that way, they could also shift because of bad foundations. So the castle is not so bad…

…and the guy in the Renaissance Fair getup is FA-BU-LOUS!

  11. Ian Says:

Oh Gandalf, go harp on someone else!

(those boot frills are amazing. Sure to catch every drop of rain.)

  12. Phil Says:

Latrines, eh? They’d be more effective if they all hung over the outer edge of the castle…

  13. Fred Zimmerman Says:

This was a pretty decent novel as I recall.

  14. Alessandra Kelley Says:

@Fred: Oh sure, the book is a good one. It’s only the cover we’re taking issue with here.

Recall earlier comments on poor Ursula K. LeGuin, who had some really atrocious covers slapped on quite good novels.
