Is she staring at my tail again? *Sighs* My face is up here you know!Click for full image

David A Comments: I assume after losing 80% of their population over the past 100 years, tigers are finally going to get even with the human race… with the help of a sexy female sidekick, naturally.

  1. THX 1138 Says:

“OK bud, just hand over the Frosties and we can talk.”

  2. SI Says:

She’s got that, “he’d make an excellent living room rug,” stare going on!

  3. Adam Roberts Says:

Sean Young, in Fremen costume, has just wandered off the set of David Lynch’s Dune and into the background.

  4. Tat Wood Says:

Prsumably, behind the 80s woman, that’s one of his mates burning bright.

  5. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

    ‘It’s my orthodontist…I can’t pull the trigger…’

  6. Phil Says:

    Here, kitty kitty.

Let’s see, if we stack them up correctly on the shelf, we can get the whole of William Blake’s opening line:

    Tiger! Tiger! – http://www.e-reading-lib.org/cover/73/73504.png

    Burning Bright – http://arielkprice.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/burningbright_thumb3.jpg

in the Forest of the Night – this very page.

  7. Tom Noir Says:

“Walk away slowly, and DON’T look at the explosion,” he growled.

  8. Sean Brodrick Says:

The comments on this book cover are awesome. You’re all brilliant.

  9. Tat Wood Says:

So we need to find a book called ‘Could Frame’, then this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Her-Fearful-Symmetry-Audrey-Niffenegger/dp/0099524171 completes the first stanza.

  10. JuanPaul Says:

I can’t blame the artist for this one. What’s an illustrator to do with a book about cat people?

  11. Anti-Sceptic Says:

His shirt looks like he’s wearing some other cat’s skin…I wonder if Larry Niven had any influence for this book…

  12. FearofMusic Says:

Tiger man may look tough with those massive forearms, but he is oh so easily distracted by shiny objects and sudden movements. Look how tiny his cranial capacity must be. That explains that oddly vacant look on his face. Of course, he would be the terror of the Hamsterpeople. If there ever were any.

  13. fred Says:

Nohar Rajasthan – private detective. Well of course, what else could a cat man with an uzi be, but a private dick.

  14. Bibliomancer Says:

So many questions. Is a half-man half-tiger a Miger? Why are his forearms all scratched up, does he have the itchies? Are there matching lady scratch marks on his back?

  15. FearofMusic Says:

By the by, one for the authors. Since cats, of all species we know, spend over 80% of their lives sleeping (and 5% more in bizarre poses whilst licking themselves) when do they ever have time to establish civilization?

  16. Herm Says:

@FearofMusic That’s why, in my universe, humanity decides to uplift dogs to sapience and leave cats in peace.

  17. David Cowie Says:

Imagine my surprise when I saw that this is not a Baen cover.

    Also, blue and orange contrast.

  18. B. Chiclitz Says:

To Bibliomancer: 1. Either that or a Tigan; 2. Barbed wire, I suppose; 3. Answer must be on back cover.

  19. Rags Says:

“Would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell our enemies that they may take our lives but……….but….hack….(cough)….(spits giant furball on the ground)….sorry where was I? oh yes, that they will never take our freedom!”

  20. FearofMusic Says:

@Herm; I’m moving to your universe. Will a visa be required?

  21. A.R.Yngve Says:

Baen book covers feature so many cat-people covers… but oh so few dog-people covers.

    Bloody favoritism!

  22. Phil Says:

Is the fontwork embossed or just drawn to look that way?

I’ve been puzzling over Tiger’s comparatively hairless pate, and decided that he must be the Bruce Willis of the cat world.

  23. Tom Noir Says:

    “Yippee-kay-yay meow-row!”

  24. Tat Wood Says:

@Tom Noir and Phil: Christ! That means at least four more ‘Die Hards’ until he runs out of lives.
