Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Unfortunately with this one you couldn’t get the full quality with a picture. It had this horrible glossy shine to it. The corners were horribly tattered as well making me think it might have been in the shop for some time…. I wonder why….

  2. CSA Says:

yeah the vamp dude looks terrible…

Photographer : okay, now say “Shnarf”
    LARP dude: Shnarf
    *click*
    Photographer: … perfect…

  3. CSA Says:

Haha i was just laughing at this old one. and decided to look up the author Nigel Bennett. He actually posed for this cover in all the make-up apparently he does theatre aswell.

    google images FTW

    holy… seige Batman.

I dont want to be cruel… but… wow, definately too much live-action roleplaying…

you’ve gotta draw the line somewhere BEFORE you start claiming your from another planet ( i hope thats a joke on the website, how would you know?)

I guess thats commitment to the novel

  7. CSA Says:

    *sigh*

Give me some time to collect my mullet jokes.

  9. SI Says:

ROSES – Yea it is pretty frightening! Apparently Mullets are back in this season. Though, looks like the one above has been there since they were first in! 😉

CSA – Yea I am searching to see if I can find that book! Its like if David Bowie from labyrinth was a cat person! lolz

  10. Mila Says:

This is way past due, but my first thought was Lacroix from Forever Night. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103417/

Yes, I am a fangirl nerd who loved both TNG and Forever Knight. Mmmmm, Geraint Wyn Davies…. mmmmmmm.

  11. SI Says:

Haha wow. I have never seen Forever Night… if it’s as good as this cover I will have to check it out!

I do have a secret love for this one. It’s like a saturday night at a roleplaying weekend. *coughs* Not that I would actually know what that is like of course.

  12. Sorcha Says:

Mila, that was my first thought too! Q and LaCroix – that would make a heck of a crossover fanfic.

  13. Terry Says:

You mean it’s not just the ‘before and after’ image of the same guy?

  14. Jami Says:

Yeah, both pictures are actually Nigel. The book is part of a series he wrote about a vampire who was a knight during the reign of King Arthur. In fact, he was actually Lancelet. (Actually had to look that up, I had forgotten a lot about this series.)

And no, I’m not being one of those uber serious types who’s going to berate you like those whiners on the Pretender post. I agree that the cover is awful. I just wanted to point out that’s not Q.

Forever Knight was a pretty good show. A bit cheesy. It was one of those “I’m a whiney vampire who wants to be human again” shows. (The hero being Nick Knight.) Set in Canada. But I always preferred LaCroix to Nick. He, at least, did not whine.

  15. Susan Says:

And all the cousins (LaCroix fans) and Ravenettes (Jeannette fans) made fun of the KNighties (Nick fans) b/c of his whiny-ness… we called him the Brick

  16. A.R.Yngve Says:

    Behind you!!

(Yesss! My first “Behind you!” joke! I am a man now.)

  17. Bruce A Munro Says:

Brendan Fraser is disappointed in this vampire and your choice of reading material.

  18. B. Chiclitz Says:

    Siege Perilous
    “Hero swashbuckling likable,
    thriller gripping”
    Listbook

  19. GSS ex-noob Says:

@Bruce: Nigel was never as hawt in his youth as Brendan.

There’s a meme going around this month: “a rainbow shirt in Target won’t turn your kids gay, but… [insert photo of very good-looking people from various movies].” One of the faves is a picture of the cast of “The Mummy”, which people ‘fessed up to the movie making them wonder about their sexuality. Also the lovely couple from PotC, and Agent Scully.

Fraser seems like a polite chap, so he wouldn’t disapprove openly. But it really does look way more like Q.

    @BC: Sir show good!

I made the mistake of reading the original comments and was reminded of the furry fanfic cosplay of Myhr and the terrible cover thereof. (Who should remain yiffing in hell.) But that also reminded me of this delight:

I was at school with Siege Perilous.
Strange lad. He refused to sit down before he’d examined the back of a chair and made sure that he had an escape route from the chair to the door.
