Bookworm Bas Comments: I prefer the other ‘The Star Beast’ cover. Aside from the background and the questionable suit coloring at least the artist got the lummox roughly right; on the other hand maybe it is better to have the reader use thier own imagination.

Many thanks to Bookworm!

Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Feels so good!Good Show Sir! (Average: 7.92 out of 10)

Just one question: Which is the star beast, the three eyed-worm-building or the butterfly?

Anyhow, I guess the following sentence does not appear in the book: “I didn’t see that coming …”

The star beast, defender of all butterflies

  3. SI Says:

Not terrible… but it would certainly get you a few looks on public transport.

    Is it worth $6 though?

  4. Tom Noir Says:

My guess is that what happens is that whenever an editor notes that the title is “The Star Beast”, they just say “Smith, pull some artwork out of the cover art file. Doesn’t matter what, just make sure it has some kind of freaky-deaky alien thing going on.”

And Smith goes, “FINALLY, a chance to unload that bizarre eyeball-arches piece!”
