Nina’s Art Direction: Draw me the story of a ghost…of a woman…in her pants, with a cat, and John Lennon. In a wooden cabin, flying through the sky. Yes, draw THAT ghost story.

Montage pile-up!!! My copy has a far more tasteful cover.

Not seeing John Lennon. Tommy Vance, maybe.

The sad thing is, at first I thought CS Lewis was part of the original, ahem, ‘design’.

Don’t think its John Lennon – is it not that Survivalist chap from the Jerry Ahern books ?

“Look you maybe simultaneously horrific and slightly erotic… but it’s freezing in so make sure to close that door.”

There’s a phantom Mustang in the rafters, how did you miss that?

Fortunately, Ghost Censorship Cat is on the case!
I was going to say that the remaining ghost boob looks misplaced, but then I realized I don’t know what the hell is supposed to be going on here anyway so there’s no point complaining.

Original title, unoriginal cover

Actually this cover does depict elements of the story, they’re just all mashed up together in a mess. Pretty great book actually, thought of as a “new” classic horror novel at the time, but a bit forgotten now Straub concentrates on his serial killer thrillers these days.

Weird composition, your eyes are inexorably knickers drawn towards pants certain elements of knickers the scene that shouldn’t catface!!! really be the main focus

They should’ve used a still picture from the movie version — that’s how you sell books today…

THX 1138: I think everyone’s copy has a more tasteful cover. I’d love to see the cover that proves me wrong, though.

We haven’t seen Clive for a while. You could use this cover for his Screwtape Letters, if that is indeed a book about his VHS porn collection.

@THX: I thought Screwtape Letters was that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann fixfic.
Peter Straub puts the HO in GHOST STORY

I don’t see a phantom Mustang, but I do see Lincoln’s ghost.

There seems to be some sort of multi-ghost merger going on, which is about the most sense that could possibly be made of this cover.

Any comments about this cover should be briefs.

Pussy Ghosts Galore!

And I’m now seriously disappointed that Ghost Kitteh isn’t a new addition to the GSS modesty menagerie.

If a ghost howls in a cabin and no one is around to hear it, does anybody give a crap?
August 19th, 2017 at 3:57 pm
Had to use CS Lewis, the cat ate the sheep.

Anatomically speaking, the pussy is out of place.
