That frozen dragon sure is hung like a... whale...Click for full image

I was thinking of a beautiful misty icy snow covered landscape with, *cough* , a couple of Eskimos looking upon a dragon frozen in a tower of ice. That’s what I want, what more can I say? …Wait – make it so purple it makes your eyes bleed!

Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Feels so good!Good Show Sir! (Average: 5.25 out of 10)

Wrong, wrong, so many shades of wrong. That purple. Arrgh, my eyes.

    I thought dragons were quadrupeds?

The eskimos look like they’re having a quick fag break before they go search the dragon for drugs…

  2. SI Says:

To be fair. It might not be a dragon. It could possibly be some sort of.. angel?

  3. little mi Says:

Oh, its a dragon! I thought it was a man with wide sleaves and a rather large…ummm…well…there’s a distinct shadow between the legs shall we say.

  4. JustinLeego Says:

Possibly some sort of angel, or…… daemon?

  5. CSA Says:

the cover isnt tottally awful, but why hasnt anyone mentioned the stupid looking box-inside-a-triangle thing and the MS Word default font?
The triangke thing isnt even in the centre of the page?
was there no editor to suggest maybe fixing that?

  6. Roses Says:

You’re right. It’s not totally awful.

But using that much purple, the awful font, the pink and yellow in the title triangle makes it mock-worthy.

Has anyone read the book, to answer the question that still plagues me – WTF is that creature?

I just can’t help but think – why was it frozen in that position? With its bits hanging out? Slightly embarrasing, not to mention, chilly.

  7. Adam Heine Says:

I agree with CSA and Roses. The thing that bothers me most about this one is the pink triangle. The purple probably wouldn’t hurt so much without it.

  8. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

I can’t help but notice a lack of darkness on this cover. Only soothing pastels.

Maybe this is some kind of club cheer? ‘To the dark tower, boys…and to those brave Esquimaux that made its journey here possible! Let’s have a hurrah!’

  9. Tat Wood Says:

So which one’s Childe Roland and what’s he going to put to his lips and blow?

  10. Anna T. Says:

A frozen T. rex with added artificial wings, AND a truly hideous and off-centre display of the title. What’s more worthy of this site?

  11. GSS noob Says:

With the pink triangle, and all the pastel purple, and the frozen thing’s… thing, I’m forced to wonder just how close the Eskimos are to each other. Wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more.

    (Particularly following Sos the Rope!)

Why do these towers always have to be “dark”, foreboding and grim? How about a gay, cheerful tower for a change?

  13. JJYoyo Says:

This looks like the artist tried to render the center of the 9th circle of Dante’s Inferno. The pastel ambiance is definitely the work of the devil.
