“There’s no call for that sort of language, gentlemen, I just asked you to say ‘cheese’.”

  2. SI Says:

Sinjar the master alien showed the others his building block creations. They remained unimpressed.

  3. Adz Says:

“No, no, you’d better put Fritz Leiber’s name on in a different font, just in case they don’t know who the author is…”

  4. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

This book cover, brought to you by Japan! Twice!

  5. SI Says:

Haha Adz never really thought of it that way. “The best of me, by me!”

Would be odd to see, “The Best of Fritz Leiber, By Dr. J R Asimov.”

Actually it’s genius… I’ll write the best of some famous author in my own comic semi-pornographic style. Just changed enough to avoid copywrite… it’s brilliant I tell you! Brilliant!

  6. Bibliomancer Says:

More like: The Bust of Fritz Leiber … And Friends

  7. Tat Wood Says:

In the other room, a Pinky-lookalike contest had been won by Jar Jar Binks.

  8. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

Question: is the house piping blood to the antennae? Or is it the other way round?

  9. Tom Noir Says:

I’m just now noticing that the… head alien… appears to have his collar studded with throwing stars. Could he be the universe’s most ineffective ninja?!?

  10. fred Says:

These bozos get the cover over Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser? Who are those guys…they certainly aren’t these guys…

  11. Rags Says:

Written, directed, published and edited by Fritz Leiber.

(this message approved by Fritz Leiber)

  12. A.R.Yngve Says:

“The Best of Alfred Bester by Alfred Bester” would sound better…

  13. A.R.Yngve Says:

“We have come to Earth to join the fabled Hair Club For Men!”

  14. Phil Says:

I’d pay good money to read the Best of Fritz Leiber by Alfred Bester. Or vice versa.

  15. Tat Wood Says:

@Phil: Sir Terry Pratchett’s spent his entire career trying to write that.

  16. FeârofMüsic Says:

I rather like that none of the bald balloon headed men(?) has exactly the same type of head. Would be perfect for a SF version of that puzzle where you look at two pictures side by side and try to detect the difference between them.

“Okay, I see only two forehead warts, oh and the brow ridge on number three doesn’t protrude as much.. “

  17. A.R.Yngve Says:

The Best of of George Best by George Best

  18. Tat Wood Says:

@A.R.Yngve: the BBC did that, a 1971 children’s show about how to take penalties and so on. This may be why he hit the bottle.

  19. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

I hired these gents to sing ‘My Love Is Like a Red, Red Rose’ to my wife last Valentine’s. Then I had to pay them double to shove off.

  20. anon Says:

This is the best of Fritz Leiber? We are not impressed.
It’s enough having to live in the ruins of a facade. You could have at least made us normal-looking.

And why do I have to wear something a sunday-school teacher would wear?
    A female sunday-school teacher?”

  21. anon Says:

    @A.R.Yngve:
“The Best of George Best by George Best”
“The Bester of Alfred Bester by Alfred Bester”
“The Bestest of ??? Bestest by ??? Bestest”

  22. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

Yes, but is it at the behest of Fritz Leiber?
