Good Show Sir Comments: “Urania” (Italian for “Your Ass!”) is a science fiction magazine that has been around forever and apparently is still in business. So I guess we could call this an Italian Honourable Mentions as well as an Italian Megapost. Anyway, have at it, and divertiti!

Our friend Chris Lindsay was prowling the charity shops of Edinburgh and happened upon a horde of Anthonies at the Shelter Bookshop. A little shopwindow of horrors, if you will. It is striking how “popular” Anthony covers are on Good Show Sir. So click on the images below for some hi-def terribleness and give a shout out to any titles that are particularly appalling. Think of this as a showroom for finding these covers in the wild and submit your pix of the ones we don’t already have. Cheers!

I’m sure he bought out the store so don’t go looking for them there.

Bibliomancer went to Greece and GSS didn’t even get a lousy tau-shirt. But we did get a bunch of terrible Greek book covers. I’ll turn this post (and week) over to him:

I come from Greece bearing gifts! So don’t look a Trojan Horse in the mouth. Athens has a big chain store called “Public” which is a combination of  Barnes & Noble and  Best Buy with a whole large floor of new books in Greek and English. Athens also have a few “charming” used book stores in some of the older neighborhoods. Here’s the inside view of one of them:

View of the headless Greek bookseller

So here are some terrible covers, Greek-style. Sorry, but we will have to skip the authors, cover artists and publication dates. Be kind to Tag Wizard:

Time to get out there and win the War on Christmas. With any luck it will be vanquished!

As we kick 2017 in the pants and say goodbye it is time again to stuff your stockings with some terrible cover GIFts you can’t return. Time to start my shopping and pink slip the elves who won’t be needed again until this time next year. I think the North Pole is above the Arctic Circle in some EU country so Brexit was going to give them the boot anyway.

Have a happy holiday and we’ll see you in a couple weeks with our Old Year Sum Up!

It’s that time of year again, meaning turkey, festive ham, chocolate, hot chocolate, chocolate ice cream, chocolate in some sort of pastry, more ham and stuffing!

So for all you people, like me, still having to brave the Christmas shops and regretting not ordering everything online, here is the Christmas mega post! A mix of things here, a couple of honourable mentions too!

Have a great holiday and we’ll be back in the new year with an Old Year SumUP!

Many thanks to Tat Wood who sent these in ages ago but have been sitting around due to site problems. Which, I might add, are still being looked at – I swear!

Yes!! May is so full of UK Bank Holidays which means only one thing… which the world eagerly awaits… a special Good Show Sir post!

Today I bring you a French Mega Post! Sent in by the wonderful Cedric *coughs* two years ago… So I am just posting them now. Maybe it has something to do with me currently visiting Paris with le wonderful Tag Wizard. So watch out, French bookshops! We’ll be looking for more!

Enjoy the post and to those in the UK that get a long weekend, I hope you enjoy it!

Fly around like that... you're going to get crazy locals checking you out!Click for full UNSHEEPED image

Cedric Comments: The blue bird with rainbow wings and of course bare breasts (the marketing dept. strikes again) is already wonderful but what takes this cover to a higher level is the man at the bottom left, staring at the bird with a WTF look on his face. Beautiful.

Cedric Comments: I can’t help but think the tiger and his friend the very stern bear keep bitching about their colleagues in the back, the hippo and his friend the fox (hyena? other strange mammal?).

Nope... I really preferred when the giant gorilla attacked it... lets get it back in place!Click for full image

Cedric Comments: Fireworks! Giant face of a woman! Building with an antenna that goes straight into the aforementioned lady’s right nostril!

It’s another bank holiday weekend and that can only mean one thing for us here at Good Show Sir! Party time! Or possibly just the cinema and a few beers, which might be a party… to some people.

These covers have been sent in by the very excellent Saxy Stevenson who found them while in Nepal. Hope you enjoy them, as for the published dates… ummm can anyone here read Japanese?

Well it has come to that time of year again when we at Good Show Sir need to take a break to steal Christmas presents from children, eat an insane amount of other peoples food and of course, get stinking drunk and rant about book covers!

Not to worry though, we’ll be back first thing in the new year with a round up of the best of 2011’s covers!

Here we have some fantastic Hungarian covers sent in by Gabor and River, about 9 months ago! I appologise for keeping them hidden for so long but here they are, all six of them!

Have a great holiday! And again thanks to everyone who visits the site and all the specials ones who leave comments which brighten our days with witty banter!

I haven’t done a mega post or an honourable mentions in a while so here we go! Here’s a collection of some special French covers sent in by Cedric and Paul. Thanks very much and I hope everyone enjoys them!

Cedric Comments: Note the strange animal at the front, confused about whether it should be a polar bear, an unicorn or some kind of big eagle. Or maybe a big confused cat, judging by the claws? And of course you can find a lightly clad lady in the back, requested by the marketing department to boost sales.
