Ok.. don't let the dragon set us on fire, don't let the dragon set us on fire. don't let the... OH CRAP!Click for full image

NGpm Comments: This is one busy cover. Why does the dragon-saurus have a blue and red aura? Is the horse fireproof? You know this dragon’s dynamite: “look at the bones, man!” Overall the art isn’t bad, but the typography and that blurb about the Newberry is just so awkward.

Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Matt Comments: All randomness aside, it’s the quality of the drawing that really stands out here.

Scary uncle, still ruins every photo.Click for full image

Nix Comments: You may recognise some aspects of this cover. The huge glowy face on the left? That, I think, is Tung: I suspect Miles is the other glowy face. In the book, Tung’s never described as having any kind of moustache, and it would fit poorly inside a combat helmet, but hey, Eurasians all look like Ming the Merciless, right? Right?

You might remember me from such covers as The Vor Game.

Corwin Comments: In the future, designer space suits are in style, asynchronous space ballet is an Olympic sport, and we’ve all lost our pinkies.

She doesn't have to be naked. I just thought it would be funny to tell her she had to be.Click for full image

Ashton Comments: Usually when there’s a naked woman on the front of a book it’s to titillate the viewer, but this brave artist went against convention and made the most unappealing cover he could think of.

Well it’s reached that time again were here in the UK we are blessed with bank holidays! So for those like myself who will be relaxing with an extra long weekend, here are some honourable mentions.

These covers break our explicit and hard kept rules, which are enforced with an iron fist. These are part of a franchise (this time of adventure choice novels), but nonetheless each of them sports an excellent cover so I hope you enjoy them.

Also just to say thanks to everyone who has been sending me in covers! We’ll slowly get through them all so keep an eye out and I promise they will appear at some stage.

Have a great weekend for those benefiting from it!

I hate these family photos, there's always the scary uncle in the corner.Click for full image

I love the realism, so we’ll definitely have to get that on there. In fact I think we should tone it down a little. We’ll keep it simple so it’s not too bad (and almost like it’s creeping up on its prey) then WHAM! We’ll hit them with a gold black red title banner!

To be fair, at least this space suit doesn't hug my figure.Click for full image

Look, I am busy – what the hell do you want? Cover ideas? My god, man. You’re new here, right? Here’s the sheet, it has everything we need. Huge terrible multicoloured fonts, obligatory best selling author line and something like a women in a space suit looking generally awful. Don’t worry kid, you’ll pick it up soon enough. Then you’ll be one with us. Don’t run… don’t run…

Gunner, aim directly for her nasal hair!Click for full image

Look, with this we’re in a win-win situation. How could we go wrong with a space ship going through some sort of light speed travel and the captain pointing at a huge shiny hologram of a person? Just as long as we keep the fonts subtle we’ll be fine.

Happy New Year!

So, just wanted to do a little sum up of a few of the best covers we have posted and some personal favourites of the Good Show Sir staff. Just kidding, we don’t have staff, more like some sort of trained animal that has been taught how to sit correctly and not bite the children.

First, just a couple of thanks. To Justin Leego who faithfully does all the tags for the covers, finds out who the artist is and corrects any spelling/grammer errors I make about six hours after I post it. And to CSA, who endured an entire afternoon with me searching through the shelves of three second hand book shops over Christmas. We have quite the collection of covers to add to the site!

And thanks again to those who visit us here. We love to hear from anyone who comes along, so feel free to comment and you will be welcomed with sarcastic undertones!

One of our favourite covers:

Man I am so wasted right now... there is no rope.Click for orginal post

Another favourite:

God damn it, that T-Rex has got him another knight!Click for orginal post

Personal Favourite:

Stop playing with fireworks Tim and bloody shoot someone!Click for orginal post

Most under-rated cover, as voted for by CSA:

Blad women acceptable. And I can stand a man with four arms. But green fur!? Take this deamon! ah HA!Click for orginal post
