Don Comments: If you were surrounded by a tribble with fangs, Dennis the Menace, the girl from Season 1 of THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, a corpse, a skeletal alien, a streaker, a horse and an off-panel Robin Hood, you’d be all “WTF?!” too.

Many thanks to Don!

I have been enjoying the delights of Helsinki this week and I have had a wonderful time. Well, except for the price of beer! 7 Euros for a pint! It makes me want to cry!
In honour I decided to search through a couple of the book shops here for the Finnish versions of some popular Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Some of them are just a little odd and a couple do make me laugh.
I hope you all enjoy these wonderful covers!

Women love their horses and I’m pretty sure everyone grows up wanting that pony all their life. So that’s what we’ll give ‘em. Except give the horse a certain quality, an almost surprised expression as he stares off into the vast distance. And give the L&D letters of the title a black fill. I can’t see that one back-firing.

Well any piece of art such as a women sitting on her horse, in the middle of the wood, summoning a huge glowing chalice, just isn’t complete with out a huge boarder. It’s like you’ll be staring in through a window into a magical world.

Oh, I know: I had this strange dream last night, possibly a nightmare. We’ll have a horse, the mare, charging through a book case, transparent like a ghost, into the view of a typical accountant type. Lapels and booze bottles around him, just like real life. Just kidding of course, we’ll have to make him look like he’s washed recently.

I’m talking busy, like izzy wizzy lets get busy! Magic! We need a blonde hero swinging his sword, and something magical, oh a like a griffin! Then we’ll have a centaur archer and why not just have a dragon esk creature. With horns, red eyes and tiny wings.

Nothing says, ‘I’m one hundred percent pure man,’ than a glowing sword, blonde curtains and a cape with some red velvet lining. We’ll have him charging towards the reader on his horse, waving his sword and smiling manically. Make sure the fonts have at least three layers of bordering!

Most covers only hint at cleavage. Where we will succeed will be in the tactic of placing an actual topless women on the cover! Riding horse back along an alien desert. Oh, and she is being lead by a sort of Apache Indian bloke with an extremely long sword. And yes, I mean a literal sword.
Thanks to Craig!

Happy New Year!
So, just wanted to do a little sum up of a few of the best covers we have posted and some personal favourites of the Good Show Sir staff. Just kidding, we don’t have staff, more like some sort of trained animal that has been taught how to sit correctly and not bite the children.
First, just a couple of thanks. To JustinLeego who faithfully does all the tags for the covers, finds out who the artist is and corrects any spelling/grammer errors I make about six hours after I post it. And to CSA, who endured an entire afternoon with me searching through the shelves of three second hand book shops over Christmas. We have quite the collection of covers to add to the site!
And thanks again to those who visit us here. We love to hear from anyone who comes along, so feel free to comment and you will be welcomed with sarcastic undertones!

Look, all I am saying is what good is a ‘warrior king’ unless he is the size of a building? A big building! If I was on a horse and in front of me was a massive magical warrior, glowing in the morning sun… Man, I’d run away back home and hide under my bed covers. That’s why we need this, we need it.
