Art Direction: Wave… WAVE!?! Well there you go my boy we have our answer right there. Lets put a huge wave on their with a lighthouse and a helicopter to try and show some size perspective. I’m sure it will be all fine. And it’s day time so lens flare the hell out of that lighthouse. They run during the day right?

Art Direction: We’ll have some guy looking like he’s in a furtistic space disco being attacked by a giant man with a glowing forehead. Why, you ask? Well, we all know psychic powers are clearly symbolised by a lens flare. Just like every sword is reflecting a magical light from somewhere making it go… TING!

Art Direction: I want this one looking exactly like a scary leaflet you’d get from some crazed new age cult! Naked opaque giant men, lens flares, rings of fire and eighties squiggles! We’ll double our congregation with this. Sorry, I mean readers… or… do I?

Harry Comments: According to the author, this cover was commissioned for another book but somehow ended up on hers. It’s very loosely appropriate: there is a sword, and there is a hero, but he is quite explicitly gay.

Listen to me carefully, I said give me a big bosomed women standing in front of some governmental type building casting a beefy fireball. With extra lens flare! Then place every sentence and word in a different type font. Oh wait… that’s what you’ve done.

A hunky half-naked muscle encrusted man standing in a strange mist, while casting a magic fireball from his hand. The book’s called flame, so how could we not have one! Though, to go one step further, have him looking thoughtfully at the fire in his hand. That way people will think he’s all sensitive and deep.
