Amy Comments: Letters invoking Art Nouveau is an interesting choice for a book where a modern man travels back to ancient Rome.  Speaking of which, those are Roman sandals he is wearing.  I just wanted to point that out because you might think he has his feet jammed into slimy cornucopias.  Also, he is -traveling- -back- -in- -time-, people, not being served for dinner.  Note the collaged photograph of an ancient city, how it is juxtaposed against the crudely watercolored landscapes and forms in the foreground, making us question, which is the -real- world?

Ashton Comments: Everything about the closer man’s outfit is amazing, from his puffy velvet shirt covered with large gold buttons and trousers striped with red and blue, to the leopard print trim on his girdle. The other man’s garbage sack outfit is no match.

Look, I’m all for drawing yourself on the cover – but it comes at a price. A translucent alien head staring at the reader, some lightning on the hills and (my forte) flying avocados! And I really mean avocados with pink wings. With that all there, you can just draw how you feel.

Well magic is purple. Fact! So we are sorted for that but we need a way of getting magic’s amazing power across to people. I know, electricity… and some guy in obvious pain as he weaves his supernatural element. We all know that when you meddle with the supernatural all you get is that burning sensation of being electrocuted.

Imagine this. The cover of the book, on the cover of the book.. wait for it .. being struck by lightning and going on fire! Don’t worry about drawing another cover on the cover that’s on the cover. With this we will blow peoples minds.

You remember in the Falklands when the British fleet attacked the Argentinians? Just like that, but imagine the Argentinians were reptiles! And have a large reptilian eye staring at the ass of a busty not-very-clothed women who’s casting chain lightning. I know… I’m physically excited too!

How about a guy with an offensive mullet playing the banjo with a guy beside him playing a flute… and in the background have their brand of futuristic country folk summoning ghosts! It’s almost too simple….

Art direction: I want this cover to scream EVILLL!!! Yes, yes, just like before.  But this time forget the pentagram and just put an evil tree with friggin’ lightning coming out from its branches!
