Tat Wood Comments: This is by way of adding to the conversation about recycling artwork. Ideally, it should be appended to the comments on ‘The Rod of Light’. No prizes for guessing what it originally covered, but given that Dick’s book has some pretty distinctive visual iconography (mentioned in the title) it’s a stupidly inappropriate choice.

Phil’s Art Direction: Look, no one will guess that this book is about futuristic police, unless you paint POLICE onto the side of that hovership. While you’re at it, give that policeman an unusually large face. I hear that’s how policemen will look centuries hence.

Phil’s Art Direction: To be honest with you, I’m not convinced he’s golden enough. Make the whites of his eyes golden as well, would you please? And a few wires attached randomly to the face will convey the science fictional nature of the book.
