Nix Comments: This book is reasonable-if-crappy (it’s a Modesitt, so it has Modesitt’s sole interchangeable plot) and the cover is a pretty good depiction of a scene from the book… but the cover is so badly done it distracted me from reading the book.  I’m not even sure what’s wrong with it. Are those bobbleheads or are they actually almost in proportion and merely a horrible example of the dangers of having naturalistic heads and cartoon everything else? I don’t know.

A princely boy sits on some ruined steps while a dragon leans downwards in a yawn of sorts. Standing next to them, a white bearded wizard in his long purple robes who is motioning to the sky with other dragons flying gracefully in the sky. No stereotypes here whatsoever … none … zip … nadda … zero… null … uhhh *coughs*

I want you to listen to me, very carefully! Wolf howls up to the sky while a dragon flies in the background with a knight on its back. Well I had this vision of a character with a waist coat, kinda like the cover of that book “Alien Infulences”.. but make it a women just in case someone catches on. You know the way magic is normally represented by lens flares?  At least six of them please! We’ll completely pwn Rusch!
