Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Feels so good!Good Show Sir! (Average: 7.17 out of 10)

For the want of a helmet Yvonne was lost. Things kind of snowball downhill from there.

  2. NomadUK Says:

‘[I’m] a terrific writer [but this guy is shite.]’ — Robert J Sawyer.

Also: Not at all certain where her left arm ends and the gun begins. And, anyway — gun, mount, ammunition belt, sights — who knows how these things work? And she won’t be needing that right cheekbone after all, so recoil shouldn’t be a problem….

  3. JuanPaul Says:

    Zombie go “GAAAAAAH”

  4. Francis Boyle Says:

Wait. Has BAEN gone into stealth mode? I mean it looks like BAEN, BAEN thinks it’s BAEN but it doesn’t say BAEN. It’s gotta say BAEN. I don’t want to live in a world where BAEN is modest.

  5. Tor Mented Says:

It’s true, then. The movie took some liberties with the original “All Quiet on the Western Front.”

  6. Bruce Alexander Munro Says:

_Madonna of the Gun with Zombie_, Baen school.

  7. Tat Wood Says:

@Francis Boyle: a series called ‘Black Tide Rising’ this century? John Ringo considered publishable? Who could it be BUT Baen?

  8. Bruce Alexander Munro Says:

A whole nine book series by Ringo and until now I’ve never been bothered by knowledge of its existence. I guess my luck ran out today.

  9. GSS ex-noob Says:

So she gets her face smashed in by the serious recoil, which will also toss her into the zombie immediately behind her.

@FB: Ringo? Who else would publish him in this century?! Add Gannon and a woman with a large machine gun and it couldn’t be anyone but.

@TagW: Emster said it right there, and it’s a great example — give us the BEHIND YOU tag!

  10. Francis Boyle Says:

I must just be old-fashioned, but in my day publishers liked to stamp their logos prominently on the cover. A little googling seems to indicate that this is not a thing anymore. But modesty from Baen is just not something my brain can process.

  11. Max Bathroom Says:

    @Francis Boyle
This can’t be Baen dude: if it was Baen her helmet wouldn”t be the only part of her BDU Yvonne was missing, would it?

  12. GSS ex-noob Says:

@Max: We can’t see her cleavage area, or anything below her waist, so who knows what’s going on there.
