Flying cone shaped space ships, check. Waist coated 80’s sci-fi guy, check. Glowing floating drug pots, check. Len flares, check check AND check! The magic will be strong with this one.

Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! this one deserved more attention… i mean look at it… what is going on?

  2. SI Says:

Yea I know… Clearly the stuff coming out of those pots is some sort of hallucinogen.

I also do love that the next cover along:

    http://www.goodshowsir.co.uk/2009/04/freedoms-brothers/

Is practically the same thing! Minus the LSD jars!

  3. JustinLeego Says:

Next one along is done by the very same artist, and I won’t have a thing said against him! You hear me? Stephen Youll is a saint!

  4. CSA Says:

oh absolutely. I feel closer to god after seing some of his other work http://www.stephenyoull.com/SciFi2Lg.html

(to be fair the art is pretty good, but the authors must have seriously asked for that stuff to go on the cover…)

  5. Roses Says:

I’m only going to tell you once, if you hang out with the alien crowd…drugs, prostitution and a protracted death to follow….

Those Alien Influences have a lot to answer for.

You’ll see, no good will come of it.

  6. SI Says:

Some of Stephen Youll’s art is simply glorious. haha

And Roses I’m a fool for per pressure, so I’ll have to watch out for those aliens. And by aliens we clearly know we really mean, grey squirrels! The beasts!

  7. Tom Noir Says:

Whoa, I’d forgotten about this cover! The flowing locks, the trippy floating jars… it’s magical!

Tag Wizard, can we get some ting! up in here?

  8. A.R.Yngve Says:

“Almost winner of a prestigious award!”

“Nearly as good as the book that won the top prize!”

    “Best also-ran of the year!”

  9. anon Says:

    @A.R.Yngve: “Nominated for an award!”
…which for the Arthur C. Clarke Award means “published in the U.K.”.

    “Mediocrish book!”
    “Next to a best-seller!”

  10. A.R.Yngve Says:

Scientists have announced the startling discovery of a previously unknown human species, with very large hands and a very small cranium.

They have named it “Homo Fabios Cretinus”…

  11. B. Chiclitz Says:

Calvin Klein pulls out all the stops when introducing this year’s line of cosmic men’s briefs.

  12. GSS noob Says:

One can see why Rusch has worked so hard to get the rights to all her work reverted, and covers of her own choosing/commission designed.

I’ve read this one and this cover doesn’t even represent anything in the book.
