This must be what happens when Harlie is six or seven (http://www.goodshowsir.co.uk/2013/03/when-harlie-was-one/ )
Also related to Huey, Dewey, and Louie, methinks (http://www.jeffbots.com/silentrunning.jpg )

On a serious note, MORE THAN HUMAN doesn’t feature any computers or electronics that I recall. It’s about a gestalt intelligence of (biological) beings.

@phil: and as I recall it, they all had legs. Maybe this cover was for ‘Limbo 90’ once upon a time.

Sturgeon’s Law mk II: 95% of this cover is crap!

“But I want ice-cream!!!!! WHAAAA…. oh and the shoulders want cookies!! And the stomach want’s a curly wurly!”
May 14th, 2013 at 3:12 pm
@Phil – Perhaps this is an older Harlie. Later in life he ran afoul of the law:

‘Over 500,000 copies in print’ Sold any though? Or are they all in boxes filling up a warehouse in Battersea? Also, which ‘International Fantasy Award’ did it win? The Ulan Bator Outer Mongolian International Fantasy Award for authors named for fish?

Ouch! It looks like his hands got caught in his own tape reels.

“I warned you this would happen if you went to the avant garde photographer for the school portraits! That’s not going on the mantelpiece!”

@FoM: I’ll have you know that’s me pride and joy!

1. The kid on his left shoulder looks like a tiny Julius Caesar.
2. Those are the ugliest hands I have ever seen rendered graphically—is there some a plot aspect to them? Anything to account for them?
3. The artist appears to have signed on the left forearm. The signature, though, like the rest of the cover, is indecipherable.

Kid looks like he could knock off a couple of hundred push-ups and not break a sweat.
May 14th, 2013 at 7:12 pm
@Bibliomancer: ran foul of the law… and had his arms and heads removed.
@B. Chiclitz: no plot significance to the hands that I recall. Maybe the artist faithfully rendered his own deformed hands. And by the way, the signature is perfectly deciepherable…if you know in advance that the artist is called Rosenblatt.
@FearofMusic: THE International Fantasy Award. A short-lived honour from the ’50s: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Fantasy_Award

@Phil: Thanks for the clarification. Hmm, not often an award can make your work appear outdated.
@FSWBT: Congrats on being the recipient of TUBOMIFAFANFF. A feat you should rightly be proud of.
May 14th, 2013 at 8:36 pm
@Phil—thanks. By damme, it does indeed say “Rosenblatt,” if you know it already.

Gestalt intelligence appears to come with more than one sun, as well. Head face and tummy face are lit from slightly above. Left shoulder face is lit from the far left. Right shoulder face is lit from dead front. No wonder gestalt boy’s eyes are bloodshot.

Is there a pull-cord behind him? If so, when pulled, do the other faces talk?

@Tracy: the artist was presumably aiming for “creepy” rather than “disabled”, but may have missed the mark.
