Max Bathroom Comments: Dying on stage isn’t always a metaphor.

Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! “Take my life – please!”

  2. Griz Says:

    Why yes, my child is an angsty teen aspiring cover artist, why do you ask?

  3. JuanPaul Says:

    The Misfits spoken word tour was pretty gloomy.

  4. Bruce A Munro Says:

    Is he (she?) crouching or do they just have very short legs?

    I’m also not sure if they’re addressing an audience or just a bunch of very large q-tips.

  5. Tor Mented Says:

    Why the hell did I let my agent book me for an audience of ant hills?

  6. B. Chiclitz Says:

    Cover askew.

  7. Bibliomancer Says:

    @B.Chiclitz – Who askew?

  8. Francis Boyle Says:

    If I had to play to an audience entirely made up of the guy from Eraserhead I’d probably die too.

  9. Tat Wood Says:

    Cut scene from ‘Joker’: Arthur’s one-man version of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ bombs.

  10. A. R. Yngve Says:

    Ozzy is getting WAY too old for another comeback tour.

  11. fred Says:

    Uncle Creepy wants you.

  13. B. Chiclitz Says:

    @B’Mancer—Gesundheit!

  14. GSS ex-noob Says:

    I have a feeling the quality of the cover reflects the quality of the book.

    @Griz: exactly.

    @Bruce: I think they’re sitting — is that a chair leg below them?

    @Tat: GSS! I was trying to combine those two ideas but was having no luck, but it’s all good, you already did it.

  15. Bruce A Munro Says:

    @fred

    “…for his undead army!”

    “…”to rock!”

    “…to scream!”

    “…to draw him a better sci fi/fantasy book cover!”

    @GSS ex-noob: I assumed the line on the left was a microphone cord and the right is the line of some baggy pants? I suppose it could be some sort of blobby chair

  16. Michael Toland Says:

    I love this cover. I would pull the book off the shelf because of this cover. I would wear this cover on a t-shirt. That the audience is made up of crash test dummies and the singer’s (speaker’s? preacher’s? breakdancer’s?) pose was clearly drawn by someone who’s never bothered to look at how human beings actually move just makes it more attractive to me.

  17. GSS ex-noob Says:

    @Bruce: I don’t know, the damn thing is so fuzzy we could both be right. I don’t see a mike, but again… fuzzy.

    Maybe the person is kneeling on top of a pair of shoes. Dorf on Insanity!

  18. Stephen Daugherty Says:

    You… YOu… HAAHAHAAHAHAAAHAHA.. YOU BOUGHT THIS BOOK! AHHAHAHAHAA

  19. Emster Says:

    Griz – #2 – exactly what I was thinking!

    (Note to self, must dig through that 40-year-old file of awful high school art projects that didn’t get thrown out… might be worth something after all!)
