The mother of all embossingClick for larger image

JuanPaul Comments: I angled the book so you all could see the triumphant embossing.

Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Feels so good!Good Show Sir! (Average: 6.62 out of 10)

Smugness looks smugier when embossed. At least on dragons.

  2. Tat Wood Says:

It looks as though someone had stuck a child’s home-made Nativity on the front of a book. Mary and Joseph and Baby Jesus and the Shepherds and Smaug and the Cows and the Angel…

  3. Max Bathroom Says:

is that a Trojan horse in the background?

  4. Bibliomancer Says:

Surprised they didn’t emboss a pair of boobs on that sword lady.

  5. Tor Mented Says:

Sunshine, LOLling Smaug and rainbows …
Geez, what a terrible song to have stuck in my head.

  6. Emster Says:

@JP: nothing like some overly-bossy embossing!

@Tor: that song never gets old (says she who tells the same bad jokes over and over again…) And it’s two birds one stone – mocking of cover and song at same time. A talent, I’d say.

@Biblo: a shame that, considering the all-out overly-bossy embossing, but willing to bet there are some embossed dumplings elsewhere on GSS.

  7. fred Says:

Cover art w/o the embossing. She’s got herself a lot of keys.

  8. Leak Says:

Someone had to craft that embossing, at a time when IIRC there was neither an Emboss command nor PhotoShop to go along with it… and someone must have thought it was a good idea… and greenlighted it…

  9. Tor Mented Says:

@fred: The embossing turned the sword lady into an inflatable sex doll.

  10. fred Says:

@Tor: And that’s really a wolf and not a tiny elephant.

  11. Francis Boyle Says:

Did you know you can get army men confectionary? Well, this is like that but worse and in full colour. Though raspberry/blueberry with a hint of lemon is indeed an interesting taste combo.

  12. GSS ex-noob Says:

Are they… outstanding in the field?

Blurb: Is the woman the Dragon Knight, or is the Dragon a Knight?

@Tat: And the rainbow from My First Old Testament.

@Max: Could be TWO Trojan Horses and the old guy might be a Trojan Centaur.

@B’man: In this version, she seems to be wearing nowt but a skin-tight translucent body suit over her panties. No keys.

@fred: That’s much less bad. Did the director think “let’s make it less detailed, and darker… but add EMBOSSING!t’

And I see what I thought was a centaur butt is a wolf. Kind of a demotion for wolfie.

@FB: It’s Bomb Pop/Firecracker flavored. Cherry, blue raspberry, and lemon. One of my favorites to buy from the ice cream truck as a kid. Mmm, artificial colors, flavors, and corn syrup. ‘Merica on a stick.

@TagW: how’s about “old man take a look at my life” and “beard wielding”?
