George Jetson, the later years

Emster comments: Gloprf realised he’d left the spaceport none too soon, looks like the staff in the control tower had all taken their smoke breaks at the same time.

Published 1980

Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Feels so good!Good Show Sir! (Average: 5.00 out of 10)

In a jungle of stars you’ve gotta have a bitchin outfit to be the star of the jungle.

As old man Ixlblx slowly flew off, wondering what all the hubbub was, the thought suddenly came to him: “did I remember to turn off the atomic stove?”

Looking at that cover illustration, Aruman Vard’s “winning side” is presumably his left profile.

  8. NomadUK Says:

Turned an appalling shade of blue by a stray bolt of zapf-ray, Spaceman Spiff pressurises the altitude-o-lators and hits the turbo hyper-thrust drive, blasting clear of the evil alien metropolis in the nick of time!

@Emster: your art direction is perfect. Another good find, GSS!

The Jungle of Stars is Sir-Not-Appearing-on-This-Cover. I suppose he’s whooshing to the stars as the spaceport blows up and missiles fly. Good time for an exit.

Gloprf’s expression says “hmm, what a pity the city is destroyed. I’ll miss that little bistro on level 9… ah, well, plenty more to see at the incredible space war!”

As Gloprf pilots his sky-pod away from the war zone, he fumes “Kick me out of Blue Man Group, will they? I’ll show ’em. I’ll show ’em ALL!”

  11. JuanPaul Says:

    Thanks for the flashback, NomadUK!

Ah yes, good old Blue Man Kohl (German for Caul I Flower…)
