I can deal with the image, but that text! There just ain’t no justification for that justification.

  2. A. R. Yngve Says:

Spend too much time in the New Mexico sunlight, and you might start seeing weird things…

  3. Cat Eldridge Says:

Is that a frog I see? Or am I just having nausea? What a sickening color that is!

  4. Tor Mented Says:

It took me a moment to realize that the top of the cover is supposed to be a satellite dish and not random white space.
Anyway, it’s a conquistatoad in search of El Dofroggo.

  5. Max Bathroom Says:

I like the look on the yellow goblin guy’s face, he’s all: “How come toad boy gets to be the conquistador and I’m just a spear carrier? My complexion’s way better than his…”

  6. NomadUK Says:

    – ‘I knew we should have turned left at Albuquerque.’

    – Stranded in the desert, miles outside Socorro, the rotund one turns to the skinny one and whinges: ‘Well, this is another fine mess you’ve gotten us into.’

(As a UNM alumnus and long-ago New Mexico resident, I’d love to get a copy of this!)

  7. fred Says:

Wrap around? Some big names in this.

  8. Bruce A Munro Says:

“The historical reenactment biz hasn’t been the same since the aliens arrived.”
“Well, at least these ones aren’t playing Nazis.”

  9. NomadUK Says:

fred@6: Well, you just cost me twenty-three bucks. Hope you’re happy!

  10. Emster Says:

Anyone else getting deja vous from Sir Toad? Like we’ve seen him somewhere before?

Artist – Marc Davis as is the Disney animator?

  11. The Blue Are Coming Says:

Pepe and Longface are nonchalant as their trousers fall yet again. Perhaps someday they’ll discover those belts and buckles aren’t for chest armour.

  12. Leak Says:

“A Very Large Array” – uh oh, buffer overflows were already a thing in 1987…

I suppose that’s how you get lizardmen… and that text justification…

  13. daard23 Says:

This cover just missed being posted on “World frog day” (which is March 20th).

  14. Tat Wood Says:

Froggie went a-courtin’ and wished he’d swiped the other way.

  15. Tor Mented Says:

@daard: It should have been posted in 2024. That’s a leap year.

  16. The Blue Are Coming Says:

    GSS @Tor !

  17. B. Chiclitz Says:

“But Señor Quixote, you are supposed to be tilting at windmills, not a radio telescope dish! And aren’t you supposed to be the skinny one and me the fat one?”

  18. The Blue Are Coming Says:

    @(Memory)Leak – coder cred established.

  19. JuanPaul Says:

Snodgrass…I feel like I just smoked some of that

  20. Leak Says:

@TBAC: guilty as charged – what gave it away? 😛

  21. Daard23 Says:

    GSS@Tor

  22. GSS ex-noob Says:

I’ve been to New Mexico a number of times, and while I’ve seen lizards/frogs and conquistador armor, it’s never been in conjunction like this.

@The Blue: Looks more like poofy Spanish breeches than today’s trousers. No belt required.

    @Leak: Way before then!

    @Tor: GSS!

Jackalman and Slythe trying to outwit the Thundercats.
