Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Can’t go wrong with a pair of Vaughn Bode tits on a cover.

    I loved these CYOA D&D knock-offs as a kid, not gonna lie.

    Does this mean Ican send in the forgotten realms covers I have?

  6. Emster Says:

    This is a great cover (when I say great, I mean really cheesy). I know those are supposed to be zombies, but they’ve got goofy faces that remind me of the aliens from Mars Attacks (“ack-ack, ACK”-ing to myself and giggling…)

    Like @Cygnia, I was also a big fan of CYOA books – part of a complete nerd kid summer.

    @JuanPaul – The site rules are sacred … but I’ll allow it.

    and that is how we do a roundhouse kick. OK lady at the back, your turn to give it a try.

  9. Francis Boyle Says:

    For shambling undead creatures those zombies are remarkably ripped.

  10. Ryan Says:

    …not only are they ripped, but those feathered haircuts are also bodacious.

    @tag I’m known for disrespecting dogma

    I also disrespect people who fight in sandals. I hope Iggy Pop on the right gets to him.

    Dude in the black robes is the big bad, Kashkow….no, Kashkar. Also for some reason it says you are only armed with a staff and not staffs.

    The quest seems endless long before you get to book #21.

  15. GSS ex-noob Says:

    I do give them credit for appealing to both men and women, as regards display of skin. Although, I kinda wish they’d made his budgie smuggler a color not so close to his skin tone. Is that why the buff zombies look so wide-eyed?

    @Emster: Agreed on the “ack-ack” look!

    @Lars: GSS!

    @TagW: INCOMING!

    Please try to find it this time. As opposed to the many, many, MANY others which are even better (for GSS values of) that have apparently never reached you over the past 5 years.

    @Lars has inspired today’s theme song/earworm:

  17. Lurkertype Says:

    @Emster: I presumed that was what @Lars was referring to. It’s certainly what came to my mind first, being a Dr. Demento fan back in the day.

    It’s a phrase that needs to come back. Republicans and Tories? Boot to the head. Putin? Boot to the head. Anti-vaxxers? Boot to the head and some shots.

  18. Emster Says:

    @Lurkertype – I agree, it’s time for a ReBoot to the Head!
