We don’t remember, but this is actually what happens to babies when they watch such programs as the Tweenies.

    Little-known movie trivia:

Stanley Kubrick suggested ending “2001” with Dave Bowman turning into a planet-sized, disembodied Starchild head floating through space…

…and Arthur C. Clarke replied: “That’s the stupidest ****ing thing I ever heard.”

    Kubrick changed his mind.

    It’s Gail Porter!

“Don’t stare at the stars in the vacuum of space, kid… the cosmic radiation will make you go blind! Oops, too late.”

  5. Pat Says:

That is the copy I had. Always put it front cover down so I wouldn’t have to look at it unexpectedly. Good book, though.

  6. Evad Says:

I don’t know – my kids watched years of Teletubbies and their eyes never bugged-out, turned red or caused complete loss of hair.

Although I had those symptoms but for mostly unrelated reasons.

Anyway, nasty looking kid. Not inducing cutesy feelings of warmth, affection or any other parental-like emotion. Only two or three times have I ever wanted my kids to die in the cold vacuum of space – so that doesn’t count. Right?

The awesome splendor of sunrise over Megabrain!

    And Rush’s head kept swelling… and swelling… and SWELLING…

  9. Rich Says:

I’ve got that. I forgive the cover because the story is excellent.

  10. Susan Says:

give the comments here maybe we should ask Chris Achilleos (the artist) if we can use it for the e-cover to Nina Kiriki Hofman’s Toobychubbies…

“If I’ve told him once, I’ve told him a hundred times: Guild Navigators have BLUE eyes!!”

  12. Tat Wood Says:

Is it just me, or does that baby look to anyone else like a galaxy-sized CS Lewis? Maybe it’s the Law of Cosmic Censorship at work.

  13. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

For sale: baby’s head, never worn.

  14. Tom Noir Says:

DSWBT, you are really bored aren’t you?

  15. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

    @Tom: I resent the implication that I’m a one-dimensional, snark-obsessed electrical appliance

  16. Leah Says:

I know ‘Evil Children’ is a good fit, but TagWizard, could we have a tag for just babies? The baby covers always make me laugh, and I’d like them in one place.

  17. Tag Wizard Says:

@Leah – I could, but then who would go back and retag all the old babies?
