  1. Ian Sales Says:

Is that light reflecting from the cover between the horse’s legs? It looks a bit like the horse has a phantom penis.

  2. THX 1138 Says:

But wasn’t Evil Edna supposed to be the baddie?

  3. Bibliomancer Says:

She’ll need a sword with a lot more Ting to fight the grandpa fairy. And whose side are the little cropped-off dudes in the corner fighting on?

  4. JuanPaul Says:

So the demon apostle is just a grumpy old man? What a let down.

  5. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

If it weren’t for the fellows at bottom right, this wouldn’t be such a bad cover. A little over-the-top, yes. But those two are staring exactly where the phantasm ISN’T, meanacing the horse’s fetlocks.

  6. Tom Noir Says:

They’re just mad because Ms. Ooh-Look-I’ve-Got-Me-Own-Horse is too busy freaking out over St. Boogie Man to help them get out of the water.

  7. Adam Roberts Says:

Blue Ghost Man’s posture is surely that of somebody who was creeping up behind the horse, tripped over a loose paving slab and is now in the process of falling forwards to land on his face.

  8. FearofMusic Says:

Mr. Horse is saying..”Really, you dropped out of law school to model for horrible fantasy covers? Steady work is it? Parents proud and all that? See, me, being a horse and all that, I HAVE NO CHOICE!! What were you thinking?”

  9. Lulu Says:

I had to stare and stare to figure out what was going on with her legs. I eventually was able to see the foot in the stirrup, but there was this illusion caused by those round gold things that made it look like she was sitting on her knees.

  10. Phil Says:

Woooooooooo, I am the Demon Apostle. See how my right hand goes BEHIND the title, but my head goes in FRONT of it. Only a Demon Apostle can do this. Wooooooo!

  11. fred Says:

Tagged with -oops, only half a centaur – .Not enough cover showing. Little dude w/club in the lower right is a centaur.
Blue Jacob Marley is only asking for a manicure but it looks like things are getting out of hand.

  12. David Cowie Says:

    Blue and orange contrast ahoy!
Blue Ghost is approaching Horse Lady from the side. Her body is turned facing directly away from him, and she is looking straight ahead. That can’t be comfortable [tries pose on couch]. That’s not comfortable.

  13. Phil Says:

It looks like Fred is right – here’s an extended version of the cover:

Low resolution, unfortunately, but reveals that there is more to the little fellah in the corner than meets the eye.

  14. Libraryman Says:

Yeah, I wondered why those two people on the bottom are cut off like that. Apparently one is a centaur. Kind of an important fact to crop out.
I just love how laughably unmenacing the ghost thing is. Big bushy blue eyebrows.

  15. Jane Says:

I like the vaguely menacing font used for the author’s name. The initials look like a tombstone.
The ghost is annoyed because those damned kids are always cutting through his backyard and playing their music too loud.

  16. Phil Says:

I bet he’s not even a ghost, just a janitor. Those pesky kids!

  17. Rags Says:

The horse looks very fake, like the artist used his 3 year olds toy horse as a model. Also want to applaud the horse for its amazing tail strength, that tail is completely straight!! Well done good horsey-sir!

  18. FearofMusic Says:

@Rags: I don’t think that is a tail. I think what we have is a methane powered rocket-horse preparing for launch.

  19. FearofMusic Says:

@Rags: I do not think that is a tail. I think what we have here is a methane powered rocket-horse prepared for launch. The horse looks shiny because his flight surfaces have been well waxes to reduce drag.

  20. Rags Says:

@FearofMusic = LOL!!! Methane powered rocket-horsies were huge back then, too bad we lost the knowledge of how to make them, like carrier pigeons or pyramids.

  21. anon Says:

    – Who’s this guy again?
    – Ehh.. he’s a nobody. Make something up – a Transformers spin-off or something.

  22. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

‘I’m going to give you thuch a thlap with my thword here!’

    ‘Bugger all, NOT THAT!’

    ‘Oh, YETH I WILL!’
