50 Shades of Dark Can’t Get Here Quick Enough So I Can No Longer See This Cover.

Edge of Dark: The Glittering Edge

    I’m very confused

Usually when you do one of these half-and-half things, it’s to contrast two styles – woman in a business suit vs woman looking casual or something.

Here, I don’t know what’s going on on either half, and there isn’t a major contrast between the two styles anyway. It’s just kind of a mess.

@Bibliomancer—confused? I can’t even tell where the edge of the cover is on this one.

  5. Bibliomancer Says:

@B.C. – But the edge on the cover girl is very clearly drawn.

  6. B. Chiclitz Says:

@B’Mance—oh yes, she’s edgy all right, and darkly glittering.

Superb book–one of the best I’ve read in the last twelve months!–but, goodness, that cover! I wouldn’t have touched it had Ms. Literaturemonger not pressed it on me. Yet Cooper sings its praises in her acknowledgments, says that it perfectly captures the spirit of her creations! Different strokes for different folks and all that, I suppose.

Is that one woman wearing a holographic disguise, or two women who’ve been merged together thanks to a reality break?

    Questions, questions . . .

  10. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

I believe this is supposed to be one of the heroines of Cooper’s story, a robot. People are generally shocked to meet the robots, and react with extreme prejudice. Cooper speaks disdainfully of this attitude, but looking at the cover, I can’t say as I would blame a soul.

So does it glitter or doesn’t it?
