You have to admit hat the tie-dye rainbow colours on the title text add a certain je ne sais quoi to the cover. Wait a minute, what I meant to say is, je ne sais quoi the fuck.

Wizard: I cast my Magic Missle at the boobs one.
Warrior: I throw my gladiator net over the dicks one. That guy is coming home with me.

There are ways this cover layout would work in the service of Lovecraft. Coloured this way is not one of them.

What’s going on with boob-thing’s arm? Is it (she?) materializing from inside the tree? Starting to merge with the tree? Giving a high-five to the tree with an arm that just happens to be glowy and insubstantial-looking?
The critter just to the left of boob-thing looks rather cartoonish, and gives the impression it’s just trying too hard. “Grrr! I’m a scary monster!”
1969…perhaps they were trying to sell Lovecraft as trippy? The colors otherwise seem rather pointless.
