I’ve actually purchased and read this one, and it’s… adequate. Although the first and second halves of the story have almost nothing to do with each other, and the casual racism/sexism is very much Of Its Time. The sea monsters are properly scary and not goofy, so I can only surmise that the artist was watching “Beany and Cecil” while painting. It’s so close that @B’man and I thought of it independently.
The first half is a straightforward scuba adventure story, and the second half is Atomic Bomb Sea Monsters Attack.
I don’t recall what the other half of the Ace Double was; gave the book to a friend who collects them irregardless of content.
“Bob was bothered by the sea monster, by the tidal wave, and by the volcano: but as a regular reader of “Good Show Sir”, he was most bothered by the iffy perspective.”

Funny, I always expected sea monsters to roar, not go “Nyah, nyah!”

Just ask Trump about the time he commanded PT 109 in Viet Nam.

“Hmm, all this time I was crawling though an endless desert. Now I’m gong to be killed by a tidal wave. Oh, the irony.”

They said “life’s a beach and then you die” but they didn’t say anything about being mocked by the world’s goofiest monster.

I don’t think he’s dressed right for a day at the beach.

“Hola, amigo, do you know the title of this book?”
“Sea Siege, senor.”
“OK, can you tell me what the title is?”
“Sea Siege, senor.”

“But apart from that, how was your vacation?”

But the sea wouldn’t let Bob go that easily.

That NYT blurb would be perfect if it started with the words “Sort of.”

@Bruce: It does look as if he’s worried that the wave is going to sweep away his bonsai trees.

Sea siege sea shells by the sea shore.
Say that three times fast.
