Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! A side to Sir Keir Starmer I didn’t expect to see.

Feet not drawn: 9/10, exceeds parameters of plausibility.

If Virgil wrote ‘A Christmas Carol’ I’m sure it would look exactly like this.

The “management intervention” might be happening a bit late at this point…

Dream Park’s latest game [1] is a bit glitchy?

I dunno if the guy with the gun a., has terrible aim, b., is trying to hit the Goddess in the knee, or c., sees something a lot scarier behind the guy bringing a sword to a laser fight.

Try holding that night-shirted hoplite’s pose on a staircase for more than half a second. Go on, try.

@Bruce: Give him the benefit of the doubt, it could be a warning shot.

This is indeed a terrible cover, but luckily for the author, I read the back cover and bought it anyway. Turned out to be a pretty good book, a ripping yarn sort of thing.

@Bruce: yes, it’s a lot like Dream Park, except some people live in the game. IIRC, the damsel was born and grew up there. However, at no time did her neck break, nor did anyone lose feet.

    LOCAL PROCESSOR LOAD: HIGH

Yes, I would say this cover is quite a load. Indeed.

The supposed God o’ War doesn’t quite seem to grasp how an arrow is supposed to be used, even when exceeding his parameters.

In the future year 1994, computer programs will write cover blurbs that are so inept, they perfectly mimick human editor copy. Progress!

  13. Tat Wood Says:

@Sean: does this Martian settlement look structured to you?

(Anyone unfamiliar with old US daytime television adverts – which might be most people here – will be struggling with this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbQt8pYUY6Q Sorry to inflict that on you but Sean’s gag deserves to be got.)

  14. GSS ex-noob Says:

@Tat: would that it were an old advert, or only daytime. Nope, that’s still attacking us both day and night.

Wiki tells me it’s a financial services company that went bankrupt twice in 9 years. There’s an achievement.
