Charles Comments: “Our pussyhats will strike fear into the hearts of our enemies!”

You will remember this classic from here.

Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! And the perfect complement to this onesie? Mittens on a string. No, hear me out…

    Bruce Willis gotta eat.

  3. Tat Wood Says:

Cirque du Soleil taught me how to stand at this alarming angle. My dream of hanging around outside the National Gallery for hours on end while people toss loose change to the value of my tube fair home will be realised AT LAST!

    In your face, man-with-a-Yoda-mask.

  4. Francis Boyle Says:

Translation of Bruce’s expression: “I’d walk barefoot across broken glass not to be on this cover”.

  5. Bruce A Munro Says:

Are the Underpeople in the background flying off to other planets, Poochie-style?

@Charles: so Underpeople have to wear identifying hats? Say someone is an uplifted turtle: https://img1.etsystatic.com/127/0/11401034/il_fullxfull.857341253_fiua.jpg

    🎶 We are the Underpeople
    We are the Underpeople
    We are the Underpeople
    You’re the Underpeople too!
Found a way to get to you

    (apologies to FZ)

@B.C. – OMG I was just about to post the same comment (with music notes). Great minds think alike, mother people. Good Show Sir!

Bruce’s thought: “Gotta put melon-farming costume control in next contract.”

OTOH, maybe he has taken up wearing onesies during the “stay home and sit on the couch’ plague. We all have our ways of coping. Yippee ki yi yay.

I don’t recall any required personalized hats for the Underpeople in the book, though. Nor onesies.

I guess it’s better than the previous cover, though that is damning with faint praise.

  9. B. Chicltiz Says:

@B’Mancer—I take that as a high compliment indeed 😉

  10. Bruce A Munro Says:

This book seems to have bad luck with covers. There’s also this one, which looks like “Picasso’s Underpeople vs annoying tourists”

@Bruce: “annoying tourists from the 1980’s.”

  12. A. R. Yngve Says:

The book that predicted the fashion trend of the 21st century: People dressing in comfy jumpsuits and staying home.

  13. GSS ex-noob Says:

@ARY: except for the lines of people who all look/act the same and are presumably storming the Space Capitol.

I think “comfy jumpsuit” is an oxymoron. At least when it’s loo time.

I had a denim jumpsuit in the late 70’s (v. trendy) and apart from the aforesaid toilet inconvenience, when I got home and took it off, I was pale blue from neck to wrists to ankles. And it had already been washed once! Mom and I made woad jokes.
