Do you mean to tell me you could have commented on this cover at any time? No, only when it was funny.

“Gently now… there! I managed to set my feet on the Giant Floating Head!”

  3. Francis Boyle Says:

If I didn’t know better I would assume that Kelly Freas was a blob of red material of indeterminate size and form. Then again, I don’t actually know that Mr Freas wasn’t extra-terrestrial shapeshifter and his paintings done from experience.

WOW!!! A Condiment King vs STARRO book. That’s what you get when you mess with the hot sauce, baby.

And to think in 1976 Mr Hoskins had just started his adult literacy course.

Geez, I hate it when the barber gets my crew-cut all asymmetrical….

    John the Baptist vibes

    When space-coral attacks!

“OK, I really need, like, another hundred feet of rope here.”

Not quite sure how to describe the look. Edgy renaissance pirate with just a touch of Ming the Merciless?

    Happy Thanksgiving, fellow non-indigenous USicans!

Original art sold in 2011. A copy of the book was included.

@THX: don’t worry about the foreigners – I got the ‘On the Moov’ reference.

    @fred: whotta deal!

Well, now we can see more clearly that he’s hanging from a … whatsit?

“The new building’s architecture was _so_ innovative, that the residents found lowering themselves from floor to floor with rope preferable to using the stairs.”

Modern architects, man. If they could duplicate Lovecraft’s mind-warping non-Euclidean architecture, they’d do so in a heartbeat.

Is a Master of the Stars outranked by a PhD of the Stars?

@Francis: if Kelly was, he was a really good shapeshifter. I never saw him look like anything other than a human male at any time.

@fred: Good call on Starro. Maybe he’s the Master of the Stars?

I now go off to consume mass quantities of food, largely carbs.
