    Oh no, another insurance commercial!

@Tat Wood: needs bigger guns. You can barely _see_ the one turban dude is pointing at Clifford’s nose.

    @B. Chiclitz: Mayhem’s got a new ride?

  3. B. Chiclitz Says:

@BruceAM—I was thinking more of this guy.

Hey, look to the right: Mutant Pongo!

    it’s Disney’s 101 HELLHOUNDS.

  5. THX 1139 Says:

They found the mythical final episode of The Puppy’s New Adventures! Yay!

More Baen would involve scantily clad Amazons, proper mounted weaponry, dog armor, and the opposing force mounted on giant felines.

  7. David John Van Domelen Says:

Also peak Baen in that it is an accurate reflection of a scene from the book. (It’s Drake’s first stab at writing an alternate General Belisarius, in this case on an extraterrestrial colony after the fall of interstellar civilization in an age of isolation, when most tech has been lost. They have no horses, so bred dogs to be mounts.)

    Soldiers put on the dog.

The guy riding the lead war puppy is obviously shouting baleful threats as he pursues Rufus Thomas…

Ting and blood’n’guts. An interesting combination.

@Tat: Needs bigger guns and maybe some boobs.

However, as this is another cover which you can hear and it’s overly orange, it’s unmistakeable.

Speaking of orange, is it that way because they’re on The Forge, thus on fire?

Giant war dogs *sound* like a neat idea, but then you see them in paint and start thinking “aww, there’s the rejected Dalmatian from 101, and the shaggy fur on the one in front, and oo’s a good puppers?”

ISTM that having your steeds be a more-or-less carnivore is less efficient than herbivores.

@BC: This didn’t test as well in the focus groups. I will have to explain this to Mr. xn next time I see one of those ads and burst into laughter.

    @(B.C. (#3):

Okay, so long as he doesn’t drag Shaquille O’Neal along….

Baen covers take a getting use to but I love them because of their quirks,
