Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! ‘Venison is coming.’, motto of House Stark cooks.

  2. A. R. Yngve Says:

    I like the artwork!

    But if this is Fantasy, why the title font that says “Not Fantasy”…??

  3. Dr Bob Says:

    Are the top two dog/leopard/thylacine things levitating? Or is someone off screen throwing them at her?

  4. Ryan Says:

    Good thing those antlers won’t interfere with any sword-swinging action.

  5. Bibliomancer Says:

    “I’m gonna cut you bitches!”

  6. Max Bathroom Says:

    Why Soulstring rather than Soulhorn?

  7. Francis Boyle Says:

    I was going to complain about the representation of the technical details of a cervine saddle but then I realised there aren’t any. Probably some castle maintenance staff puzzled about a missing bath mat and loo chain, though.

  8. Tat Wood Says:

    Who needs a Shuriken of Approval when you have the literal dog’s bollocks?(Bottom left. The one above him is also rather excited).

  9. Emster Says:

    Whaaaa? Stag looks like it is trying to dislodge/dump her as dog food distraction so it can make a getaway into the forest.

    @fred – very punny! GOT fan approved!

    @francis – Golden Snicker-Snort Award

  10. Leak Says:

    Is it just me, or does the stag look like a horse that had one of those wall-mounted stag trophies fall on it’s head, where it’s been stuck ever since?

  11. B. Chiclitz Says:

    That dog-thing on the lower right side looks like he hasn’t quite mastered the vicious snarl. He looks like he wandered into the frame from some cartoon, and isn’t quite sure what he’s doing here.

  12. Bruce A Munro Says:

    Their tops are made out of rubber. Their bottoms are made out of springs! They’re bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy. Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!

  13. GSS ex-noob Says:

    @Dr. Bob: Since there’s magic, I think they’re levitating.

    @Ryan: Also a good thing that a pack of ravenous carnivores have never, ever taken down a lone stag.

    @Francis: Maybe the dog-things are part of Castle Grayblur’s anti-theft measures.

    @Tat: I suppose we should just be glad we aren’t seeing those bits of the stag. Unless the art originally had it and someone at the publisher quickly painted some flat black over it.

    @Emster: It does look like that. She’s a second from sliding off the unsecured bath mat as the stag boings off to safety. She can’t get all 5 of the Attack Things of Fury with her sword.

    @Leek: It really does appear that way!

    Is the Soulstring what’s around the mighty steed’s neck?
