Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Feels so good!Good Show Sir! (Average: 5.38 out of 10)

Lacivious lavender lute. Pretty sure that painting is hanging in the Vatican.

Plot twist: they’re all Jimmy Page in bad make-up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAIr2JSIQk4

When Alice Cooper haunts your dreams but you’re really more of an Enya fan.

  4. Cornelius Says:

    Time to lute and pillage.

Anybody know what conditioner he uses to get glowing hair?

  5. Tor Mented Says:

    @Cornelius: Ultra Sheen?

“Oh no, not the bees! Not the bees! Aaaaah! My eyes! My eyes! Aaaaah!”

  7. Ryan Says:

In between albums, the members of Styx did a lot of posing (for cover illustrations).

  8. Tracy Says:

That artist has no idea of what a lute looks like. Where’s the fret? How can the aging Jimmy hold it like that?

  9. Bruce A Munro Says:

Dad cloud is sharply critical of his long hair and free-roaming lutist lifestyle.

Another good book with a bad cover.

I think those clouds are of the cumulodoofus variety.

@Tor; GSS! I knew it was reminding me strongly of something, and that is it!

I am in a smol pit of depression/apathy (the GLOOM that came to…), and you lot are a bright spot in my day.

I often see faces in clouds, but if I ever see anything that vivid, I’ll know those were the “special” chocolate chip cookies my friends brought over and not the “no surprises” cookies designated for me and the kids…

  12. JJYoyo Says:

I see Raphael, Leonardo, and Michaelangelo…. But Donatello is missing.

    @GSSxn—
GSS has helped me over more than one rough patch. Hang in there. As Steely Dan sez:
When the demon is at your door
In the morning he won’t be there
    No more
Any major dude will tell you

  14. JJYoyo Says:

@GSSxN: may I attempt to lift your spirits with a well earned GSS! for “cumulodoofus”? The doofuses (doofi?) have certainly accumulated on this cover.

“Cumulodoofus” has described more than a bit of NJ weather this year.

  15. Tor Mented Says:

@GSSxn: I hope you are feeling better. I just want you to know that my day is not complete until I check back here to see your comments and see how you sum up the thread.

  16. GSS ex-noob Says:

Aww, thanks guys. Am doing somewhat better today. No crying. I think GSS gets us all through bad days.

@BC: Now I am earwormed, but I like the Dan.

@Tor: Double thanks! I’m often sorry that I get here so late that all the good jokes are gone and wonder if anyone reads my comments.

  17. Emster Says:

@GSS x-n: I rely on your comments/expertise when looking at a cover that’s got me completely baffled. Which is most of the time.

  18. GSS ex-noob Says:

@Emster: As I rely on the comments before mine. It takes a village to even begin to analyze these.
