So on this cover I want a vision of the future! I ponder what shall humanity meet? Aliens? OR a huge dragon lizard alien!?! And how shall man react? Peacefully? Or will they be blasting away at it with a shoulder mounted laser gun, wearing tight grey jump suits and wielding their horrendous mullets or bowl cuts… God… I can’t wait for the year 2015.

I do believe this cover needs bonus points for being BRIGHT ORANGE!!!!
So you have no chance of reading it on public transport without being noticed! 😉

Star Flight factoid, +3 Beard Wielding damage per round:
Star Flight (2007), by the prolific “Andre” Alice Norton, is an omnibus of the two books of the Astra series, aka the Pax series: The Stars Are Ours! (1954) and Star Born (1957).
Cover could do with a nice red 50th anniversary edition riband across one of the corners. Mmm, orange and red, goes so well.

Is “Escape to the Stars!” a tagline, or an admonition about what you should do if people catch you reading a book with this cover?

Hey, for a BAEN! book, it’s low-key and tasteful. The font is only one style/color map, there are no ‘splosions, and no giant boobs.

Hey, what’s the guy with the shoulder-launched laser gun trying to do? Relight the HDAL’s pilot light?
“Dammit, Frank, the dragon’s pilot light went out again. Get the laser cannon….”

Sadly, I was missing a couple of letters to form “performing xenobiological dentistry using portable lasers”.
