MisterBob Comments: Could you guess its from 1989? Dull doesn’t quite cover it. Published 1989

Just what the 1980s needed: another synthpop duo.
This looks like one of those pictures you get in small barber’s shops offering slightly out of date hairstyles.
Fun time! How many nudes can you spot in his hair? Three is normal, seven is splendid, 12 is a sign of deeper issues.
The Early Chris Morris, in a duet with Mory Kante!
Nothing about this cover says SF/Fantasy to me at all. I would have thought it was any generic book of the 80s.
Ok, maybe her eyebrows – they look a bit Vulcan?
If I really tried, I could project some kind of racist overtones onto this. But mostly it’s just deathly boring.
Oh, and question. What constitutes qualification for the “damsel” tag? She doesn’t look in immediate need of rescuing, unless her transparency is clinical and not merely artistic.
If it was 2012 I would say it was brooding tween vampire vs voodoo priestess, soon to be a major tentpole summer blockbuster wanna be.
The lies that that bind Ian Williams. Interesting. Reminds me of that classic: the sheep look up John Brunner.
I like the background figure’s hair adornment, which appears like a Post-It note with a price written on it.
I am pretty sure the title is “The Lies Lies That Bind”
The poor author didn’t even rate proper capitalization of his name.
@Ian actually I think the title is “The Lies Lies That Bind Front Linesâ€
Isn’t it a bit racist to put the price sticker on the black woman?
Anon’s comment is undoubtedly a funny joke in 2015, but in 2017 it will be taken dead seriously…
