Sorry, Princess, the last thing we need is another draught excluder.
August 6th, 2012 at 1:24 pm
So, this is actually on the cover, it is not a modesty pink ferret fox-owl-C.S. Lewis alternative.
August 6th, 2012 at 3:23 pm
@Hep C, I thought the same thing— this cover is self-censoring with a creation from Jim Henson studios.
August 6th, 2012 at 4:17 pm
Oh Princesses… Uses four unicorns to pull her coach… gets excited about a pink furry fox!
Some people can never have enough mythical creatures!

The Greeks adapt their bearing gifts ploy after some bad publicity.

Don’t forget the invisible pedestal for the owl-cat to rest its forepaws on.
August 7th, 2012 at 2:09 pm
Ugh. Certainly not the best font choice here. Also the “Eerie, Fascinating” could be better phrased. I assume the tales are by a foremost writer, but maybe that wouldn’t fit.
She is thinking “my cape slipped down, now how do I hitch it up?”
August 7th, 2012 at 6:32 pm
@DVD it leads me to believe that the owl-cat is stuffed.
August 7th, 2012 at 9:35 pm
Stuffed? Pity. I was wondering if there were any good owl-cat recipes around. Or maybe one could stuff it with a unicorn?
August 23rd, 2012 at 3:09 pm
What is that thing resting it’s paws on? And if she can afford the jewelry and unicorn driven carriage, why not clothes?
November 21st, 2013 at 4:30 pm
LOL I don’t think I’ve seen this one before.
I nominate Space Fox for the new face of GSS censorship.
November 21st, 2013 at 8:43 pm
@Tom Noir – I second your nomination. It’s got such attitude.
That vertical thing coming off the belt/g-string – where does it end? Is the owl-fox impaled upon it?
April 27th, 2014 at 3:19 pm
That has got to be the most baroque portaloo, like, ever.

The Lower Halfling and other parts
June 24th, 2015 at 4:43 pm
So… Is completely naked then no ling or full ling?
July 28th, 2015 at 10:24 am
@Tat Wood: Too bad they all the carriers for the portafox escaped so the lady was forced to carry it herself. Or is she the greeter, giving you one to take it with you in the loo, because, you know, TP is so last season?
July 28th, 2015 at 4:35 pm
‘You BUFFOONS! I told you I wanted a tavern wench, holding A LIEN FAX at her BAR! How are we going to sell stories about interstellar real estate loans if we can’t represent the stories themselves?’
July 28th, 2015 at 7:03 pm
Hey, Princess, maybe a bit too much kohl there?
Also, uh . . . Unicorns!
July 28th, 2015 at 7:36 pm
@B.Chiclitz – Foxy Lady
Unicorns!
July 28th, 2015 at 7:59 pm
@anon (16): I’m not sure I’d let anything with a beak and pointy ears do that to me.
July 29th, 2015 at 10:26 am
@Tat Wood: More than once anyway, right? That explains why they seem to be a traveling enterprise..
December 1st, 2017 at 10:59 am
The blurb rather gives up at the end, doesn’t it?
December 1st, 2017 at 11:52 am
‘Ello, I wish to register a complaint.
December 1st, 2017 at 12:55 pm
THE HALFLING and a few other crap stories
December 1st, 2017 at 1:28 pm
This is the end, beautiful friend
This is the end, my only friend, the end
Of your elaborate bra, the end
Of carriages unicorns draw, the end
No trousers on your thighs, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes, again
December 1st, 2017 at 2:21 pm
That is some righteous chainmail lingerie / crotch armor. Tag Wizard?
December 1st, 2017 at 2:23 pm
I wouldn’t give that thing a half-fling. I’d give it the full-fling.
December 1st, 2017 at 2:31 pm
@What is going on with the back end of that creature? I mean the purple-pink owl-fox-cat, of course.
December 1st, 2017 at 2:33 pm
@DeadSWBT (22)βIt’s not much at the beginning either. “Of” may be the most interesting word in the whole blurb.
December 1st, 2017 at 2:38 pm
If Boris Vallejo did this cover you just know we would be getting a face full of hindmost.
December 1st, 2017 at 2:49 pm
@Bibliomancer – Shields up!
December 1st, 2017 at 3:00 pm
Whoever is in charge of security should be fired. I would have Unicorns! mounted knights instead of Vikings dressed in bed sheets.
December 1st, 2017 at 3:25 pm
Here is a belly dancer with a purple, furry owl-fox.
Your argument is invalid.
December 1st, 2017 at 3:49 pm
@Tor: When I said it lacked support, I meant–you know what? Never mind. π
December 1st, 2017 at 11:19 pm
I, uh… huh.
If this has anything to do with any of the stories in the book, wow.
Scott B’s caption says it all.
Not only is the blurb a random assortment of words missing a resolution, the capital F is terrible in that font — and why is the second word also capitalized anyway?
@BC (28): Is it a prehensile tail or a furry tentacle?
@Tor (33): Yes. So true, and I hope it spreads net-wide.

Speaking of brunette women and their love for canids, I happened across this today. Enjoy.

@GSS ex-noob, I’ve been meaning to ask you, is this a yiff in hell situation?
December 2nd, 2017 at 7:15 pm
@Tor: Naw, the owl-fox seems to be only a fashion accessory or fancy gift, not a romantic interest. She’s certainly not furry.
