It seems to have everything but cat peoples. So far.

“[P]aleontology, engineering, and space flight, puzzles in linguistics, biology, physics, and evolution further the story, as well as wacky humor, academic rivalries, and even some sweet romances.” —School Library Journal on Boundary

With an author’s name like that, I wonder how the monsters found her?

I count eleven tentacles there. Must be the legendary hendecapus.

  5. Anna T. Says:

This planet has hermit crab-giant squid mashups that look like the pets of Cthulhu menacing people. Sounds like a prime vacation destination to me.

  6. Ikari Gendo Says:

That’s it, human! Let go of the kid, and move away from the shrine to Baen.

  7. Tat Wood Says:

Look directly down from the ‘A’ in ‘Planet’ – is that a face in the rock and is it a giant kid in a rock-like sheet holding up the Baen logo in one hand and dandling Our Heroine on its enormous knee?

  8. Dave Van Domelen Says:

Huh, not quite what I’d pictured the Bemmies looking like, but okay. (For reference, the “kid” is her responsibility, a Europan life form who’s part of her children’s social group and got stuck with them when the lifeboats launched.)

Skipper: “What was that you said little buddy?”

    Gilligan: “Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn!”

Fired from her job with Byron, Gwen prepares to release her ‘little friend’ as her boss looks on.

  11. HappyBookworm Says:

Why does the manta ray mashup look as surprised as the woman does upon seeing the squid monster? Or am I just imagining it?
