B Bromley Comments: Stop leering at that little fairy.

Published 1988

Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Feels so good!Good Show Sir! (Average: 5.55 out of 10)

    Which one’s Piers? Top left?

  2. JuanPaul Says:

    Good to see Piers wore his best shirt for the cover.

  3. JuanPaul Says:

    I had a friend back in highschool who bought Piers’ ‘Ogre, Ogre’ because he thought it said ‘Orgy, Orgy’. He lives in Florida now.

  4. THX 1139 Says:

    The werewolf in the middle is quite good.

  5. Bibliomancer Says:

    You just know he wants to lick that frog.

  6. Cygnia Says:

    *shudders*

  7. J Greely Says:

    You know what this cover needs? Jason Striker.

    I now realize how much the Endgame movie poster could be improved just by adding a few ferns.

  9. Bruce A Munro Says:

    The picture makes me think the author is sprouting from the ground like another mushroom. (Piers is a humongous fungus among us?)

    @B Bromley: better the anatomically peculiar little fairy than the little girl.

  10. Francis Boyle Says:

    But just to add to the creep factor the little girl looks older than the fairy.

  11. Tor Mented Says:

    You know they’re running out of ideas when they do a clip show.

  12. B. Chiclitz Says:

    @Bibliomancer—GSS! 😉

  13. GSS ex-noob Says:

    Mr. Sweet really captured what we all knew. Piers, looking pervy, acting pervy towards that underage fantasy creature, in a jumble of weird stuff and another underage girl besides. Ogre indeed. Also Ogle.

    GSS to Darrell. It’s technically done well, at least in each individual piece.

    @B’mancer: perhaps he’s already licked it and this is what he sees.

    @Tor: heh.

  14. Anti-Sceptic Says:

    The irony is that the fairy thought that the frog’s butt needed censorship.

  15. GSS ex-noob Says:

    @A-S: To be fair, she doesn’t have any nipples, and we don’t know what that frog might have going on down there. She could be right.

  16. A.R.Yngve Says:

    Maybe it’s wrong to assume one can read the artist’s mind… but my hunch is that this cover is one giant pisstake. Amazing, really, that the editor let this pass.

  17. Calyx Says:

    Um…did anyone spot that for the lack of a vowel, it’s almost ‘bio of a rog(u)e?
    No? So it’s just me then. Okay. I’m good.
