Across the crowded disco-room
You’re amazed of dancing people
He sets a fire there all alone
Wanna get you the disco-fever
And if he raised his head his eyes caught mine
And that was all that I needed
In his eyes I saw the need for love
The warm, soft feeling
‘Cause we made
Eye to eye contact
Eye to eye contact (Oh, oh, oh yeah)
Eye to eye contact (We made)
Eye to eye contact
You and me

Well, you learn something every day—here I was thinking that “Tom of Finland” had something to do with Finnish Railways (scroll down): https://www.vr.fi/cs/vr/en/frontpage.
I remember reading this book while I was in my teens, and it wasn’t new then. The cover is to the book roughly as a raven is to a writing-desk.
Great to see “weird delts” right next to “weird pecs”! Both totally apropos this otherwise meh cover. Today’s comments are way better than their source, btw. GSS to all 😉
Yes, as I said to @Tag W, it’s a book about a teenage boy on a Pacific island and a green blobby alien. So of course it has two guys fighting over who’s going to pose for T of F.
“weird pecs” obviously, also the lesser-known “weird delts”, and let’s face it, weird everything.
I don’t remember where I spotted this gem. My copy has this cover:
which as @Bruce (5) pointed out is somewhat illustrative of the main characters.
You don’t often see the Fist Of Ting!
While this isn’t as bad as many covers we’ve seen, it was just so gob-smackingly inappropriate I had to capture it. I wonder if Avon also put out a book about two cosmic fighting giants with a teen and alien blob cover.
Clement was still around when this came out but obviously had no cover approval in his contract. He was a modest man who probably hated this. The original covers from the 1950s aren’t bad, though the European ones are predictably WTF.
GSS to @THX (11) and @BC (15).

Tom of Finland…strategically placed clouds…paraphrasing John Belushi from Animal House – ‘SWORD FIGHT!’.

“in a bizarre adventure of Hunter and Hunted”
Let me guess. That is Hunter on the right and Hunted on the left. The Ambiguously Gay Duo.

So one guy’s human (maybe), and the other is either Chiss or a big fan of blue body paint.

It’s like they’ve got invisible longbows and are planning a point-blank suicide-pact firing thunderbolts or whatever with them.
There’s a David Essex joke in there if you want it.
