I get that the promise of exciting adventure and non-stop action probably wasn’t the way to go in 1946 but did people really want bored and listless with a side order of goofy?

At least in 1946, the emphasis wasn’t on T&A, so it’s automatically better than the ones we’ve seen here before.
Although if fish-man bent over even a little, we’d see fish butt. I guess he doesn’t want to do that since then his giant googly eyes couldn’t look down her cleavage.
