    the embarrassment of waking up with “zombie face.”

  2. Max Bathroom Says:

    Why Galactus wears that purple spacesuit when he’s out eating planets.

  3. JuanPaul Says:

    Atlas shrugged and dropped the ball

    – [corrected alt text] Jeff ‘Can’t Draw Feet or Dicks’ Jones

    – If I’d made a big jump and wound up straddling electric wires like that, I’d probably be neither dead nor alive, too.

  5. Francis Boyle Says:

    Yeah, I know how he feels, but at least I have all my limbs (as well as the other parts).

  6. fred Says:

    I don’t know who is piloting that spacecraft suppository delivery system, but he deserves a medal if he survives.

  7. B. Chiclitz Says:

    Once that suppository docks, there will be a big jump indeed, followed by a sequel, The Big Dump.

  8. Tat Wood Says:

    How Koestlerian – today’s most lurid headline https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-65764642

  9. fred Says:

    @Tat – Started watching Taggart on BritBox, so this story seems appropriate somehow.

  10. Emster Says:

    Note to self: do not eat peas and mashed whilst reading GSS comments.
    (Oh, let’s face it, I never learn)

  11. Francis Boyle Says:

    @Tat

    And I hereby declare the world TFU.

  12. GSS ex-noob Says:

    He was neither dead nor alive, he had a face on his lower torso, and he’s never going to jump again missing a leg. Or procreate again.

    I mean, I’m a woman and I’ve got more externally-visible stuff Down There.

    @Tat: More proof that SF is prophecy?

    Note Brackett wrote the screenplay for the 1946 movie “The Big Sleep”. Am now wondering how many “The Big…” projects she wrote. She did write a lot of “The Long…” things.

  13. Max Bathroom Says:

    @GSS
    “The Big Long Empire Sleeps Tonight…”

  14. Tor Mented Says:

    (Wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh)

  15. Tat Wood Says:

    @ Max and Tor: now we know how Mr Spigott intended to manage the Tarzan yell had he overcome hs agent’s objections https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbnkY1tBvMU

  16. B. Chiclitz Says:

    @GSSxn—Good catch on that pareidolia face!

    @Tor—Nice background vocals

  17. GSS ex-noob Says:

    @Tor: GSS!

    @Max: We would also have accepted the thrilling Space Olympics tale, “The Big Long Jump”. But the background vocals wouldn’t have been so catchy,

  18. Bruce A Munro Says:

    @GSS ex-noob: Chariots of the Gods of Fire?

  19. Tor Mented Says:

    @Tat: That sketch is hilarious.

  20. GSS ex-noob Says:

    @Bruce: Once I saw an annular eclipse. Solar eclipses, of course, can be easily seen with the light and shadow passing through tree leaves. We looked at the ground to see the dark circles surrounded by light and they were dubbed “Cheerios of the Gods”.

    @Tat: I’ve seen that sketch too many times to count and I always love it.

  21. GSS ex-noob Says:

    🎵He’s never gonna jump again,
    Missing feet have got no rhythm🎵
