One leg … it only has one leg. Perhaps the monster is one legged in the book, not allowing its unidexter status stunt its ambitions* … either that, or there was an awesome lack of committment to this book from the artist and publisher.
*if so, perhaps its anger is in response to failing to get the role of Tarzan?
I’m amused that there are scales around the creature’s mouth, and nowhere else on the body. Perhaps this is the legendary Naugahyde creature? You could decorate dozens of sofas with a beast that size!
@Rev: I followed the link Dead Stuff supplied and found that one of the three insect races was supposed to be like a praying mantis – no mention of anything else cricket-like.
This cover reminds me of that time when I was a little boy, and I tore a piece out of the wallpaper in my room, and drew an outline around the torn spot, and imagined it was a drawing of something.
That space monster seems drawn in precisely that way — around something that wasn’t a figure in the first place.

No scabbard. That sword must be attached with Velcro. Or just Krazy-Glued on.

A giant reptile uses the bones of one of his own legs to make a sword then threatens the residents of Geodesic City with… charades.

That hexagon was pitched well inside off and the one legged lizard man was clearly not offering a shot. If he was a true sportsman he’d walk. Or hop.
