JuanPaul Comments: It’s what David Miscavige sees when he looks in a mirror.

Actually, that cover IS a classical work of art!I would touch it without protective gloves.I've seen worse. Far, far, worse.Interesting, but I would still read it in public.Middlng: Neither awful nor awfully goodWould not like to be seen reading that!Awful... just awful...That belongs in a gold-lame picture frame!Gah... my eyes are burning! Ladies beware! Pretty/bad boy just wants you for your pink Cadillac*.

    *Other automotive metaphors may be available for this cover.

  2. THX 1139 Says:

    His tailor’s a suppressive person, he certainly can’t walk in that.

  3. Bruce A Munro Says:

    In some ways it’s a good cover: it gives an accurate impression of the content quality.

    “Donde esta la biblioteca, El Ron.” If you don’t speak Spanish, I just told him ‘Behind you.”

  5. Max Bathroom Says:

    It’s a little known fact that there was a $cientologist fan supplement for Car Wars which made it clear that operating Thetans were immortal and so badass they don’t need to bother wearing body armour.

  6. Ryan Says:

    I am not very familiar with L. Ron’s cult, but the blower-and-fenderskirts combination on the Cadillac is definitely heretical.

    Also, anyone who is attracted to a book by the depiction of a Clenet Cabriolet is a serious deviant, so that is two strikes just on automotive grounds.

  7. B. Chiclitz Says:

    I guess gloves are hard to draw too.

  8. Tat Wood Says:

    The tilt of those skyscrapers indicates a hemispherical surface about a kilometer across. Is this a naff 80s reboot of ‘Le Petit Prince’?

  9. JuanPaul Says:

    Judging by the chest pockets, that jacket appears to be designed exclusively for right handed people. Is that a Scientology thing?

  10. GSS ex-noob Says:

    That is a jaunty hip!

    The Enemy Within: Extreme Chafing.

    Despite the $cinos well-known antipathy to it, this cover is suspiciously gay. Tight leather pants and jacket, pink Cadillac, perfectly tousled hair.

    @fred: GSS. And GSS to all.

    @TagW and @JP: thanks for another L. Ron Humpday!

    @Tat: Would fit with Miscavaige, no?

  11. B. Chiclitz Says:

    @GSSxn—Good eye on that hip!

  12. GSS ex-noob Says:

    @BC: I knew you’d appreciate it.

    (Are we being too subtle about this?)

    I think those arms are also akimbo.

  13. A. R. Yngve Says:

    In the background, is that Toon Town or Cool World?
