Except for the stylish hat / shoes combo, this is an entirely appropriate cover for the contents of this book.
If the wings on those shoes are metallic, it would take, what, twenty minutes before he lacerated his shins?

They both blend into the rocks and sand so much that I looked elsewhere on the cover to make my eyes less hurty and thought “What does the lobster have to do with this?”

@BC, Tracy: I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that collage was an inspiration for this cover. Anything that iconic would have been known to professional artists. At least subconsciously, that had to be involved.

I’m getting an 80’s Asimov mag cover vibe, where it may or may not have anything to do with the stories, but it’s definitely fantasy/artsy hot mess that the kids’ll go for.
