Bibliomancer Comments: I picture this is how it went down: Artist: So what do you want on the cover? Editor: Its called “Invasion of the Robots” paint me a robot. Artist: What kind of robot? Editor: I don’t care, any frickin robot. Later. Artist: OK, here’s your frickin robot. Editor: You’re fired. Artist: I quit. Editor: Oh yeah, well I’m putting this on the book anyway. Artist: Put my name on this and I’ll sue you. Editor: Idiot, you forgot you initialed it!

Tom Noir’s Art Direction: I want a naked man, and he’s playing with these two blue balls. No, no, I’m saying he’s handling two massive globes. Don’t make ’em the same size, one is bigger than the other. Have him straining, concentrating intensely. Look, I don’t see what’s so funny about this.

Edit – Violates our iron clad written in blood rules, this is a franchise!
Sorry!
Frank Comments: I get the idea the artist read the teaser on the first page, “WHAT’S SO SPLENDID ABOUT WESTERN CULTURE THAT YOU WANT TO SPREAD IT ALL OVER THE GALAXY? I TELL YOU THERE’S SOMETHING ON TRIOPUS THAT CAN NEVER BE REMADE.” …and painted something that you probably wouldn’t want to remake even if you could.

Good Show Sir’s Art Direction: You, my friend, are an artist! And a good one at that, so I will not make you draw just any old crap. Give me something like… The Birth of Venus… but instead of her covering herself up… have a naked guy in a bondage space suit holding an alien flower.
