Tom Noir Comments: I know what you’re all saying… “This book doesn’t count! It’s clearly self-published!” Well I found in a legit bookstore, dammit, so I say it counts!

Come off it, Hayao Miyazaki, you don’t have to use every idea you ever had in one go.

The art style is like American 80’s cartoons failing to do anime.

On this occasion I think we can all forgive the failure to apply space sheep.

The sequel’s cover transcends the original in eye-bleeding awfulness. I’m impressed.

Is there a cd rom taped to the back page, where
Kevin Kinne sings the theme tune ?

Apparently cat-lady boobs do not require space-sheeping. The GSS protocol is unclear on this.
May 6th, 2016 at 5:05 pm
@Bibliomancer: maybe it’s a cat-man’s pecs. We all know that cat-men are REAL men.
Especially when they have elfin, androgynous faces and manga eyes and feel the need to over-compensate.
May 6th, 2016 at 6:03 pm
I’m curious as to which anime Mr. Kinne stole the cover artwork from. I believe they call it “plagiarism”.

It resembles Dirty Pair but it may just be the cat-girls.
May 6th, 2016 at 9:39 pm
@Teat Wood @Boobliomancer – A close examination of the GSS TCP (Tag Control Protocol) stipulates that, in the absence of cover-artist supplied teat shields, space sheep are not required for non-papillial boob display regardless of the species of the female, human, catperson, or indeterminate.
The question remains whether this is a gibberish title or not.

I didn’t think this could have more of a “All your base are belong to us” feel … and then fred goes and wins the internet with the part 2 find. Good show SIR!

Actual official plot description:
In the year 2032, because of their corruption and self-destructive course, Humanity is all but wiped out by the Skendri, a species that Humans themselves had created. 5000 years later, Prince Krell, ruler of the Slaadikaar Holy Order, is attempting to negotiate the return of the rest of his people to their ancestral home. Political and territorial divisions with the Skendri Confederation keep tensions high. Religious strife between the monotheistic Slaadikaar and the polytheistic people of the Nihanese Empire erupts into outbreaks of terrorism. Prince Krell’s trusted top-ranking Admiral Dormuz, who has own dreams of Empire, secretly manipulates events so as to start an all-out war. Win or lose, the war will cause the downfall of Krell and place Dormuz himself upon the throne…or so he thinks. However, when the war doesn’t go as planned, Admiral Dormuz makes a Faustian deal with an ancient race named the Guareg. Now, all sides in the conflict may pay the ultimate price of Dormuz’s ambitions…

Remember authors, if you draw your own cover art you get your name on the cover TWICE!

@Anna T. – several issues of those “How to Draw Manga” books that don’t actually teach you how to draw anything
May 9th, 2016 at 11:54 am
To be kind, there’s not a lot of cover artists that are allowed as much space for their names on the cover as the authors’.
Though given some of the covers on the site, that’s often a blessing.

I refuse to buy any book that doesn’t say “Printed, bound and distributed by [Author’s Name]” on the cover! Anything less would seem unprofessional.
