  1. THX 1138 Says:

Come off it, Hayao Miyazaki, you don’t have to use every idea you ever had in one go.

  2. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

The chief taactic of the Slaadikaar waar waas chopping everyone’s torso just below the nips.

  3. Ikari Gendo Says:

The art style is like American 80’s cartoons failing to do anime.

  4. Francis Boyle Says:

On this occasion I think we can all forgive the failure to apply space sheep.

  5. fred Says:

Was there a part 2? Oh my yes.

  6. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

    @fred: /me is afk, crying

  7. Ray P Says:

The sequel’s cover transcends the original in eye-bleeding awfulness. I’m impressed.

  8. misterbob Says:

Is there a cd rom taped to the back page, where
Kevin Kinne sings the theme tune ?

  9. Bibliomancer Says:

Apparently cat-lady boobs do not require space-sheeping. The GSS protocol is unclear on this.

  10. Tat Wood Says:

@Bibliomancer: maybe it’s a cat-man’s pecs. We all know that cat-men are REAL men.

Especially when they have elfin, androgynous faces and manga eyes and feel the need to over-compensate.

  11. Anna T. Says:

I’m curious as to which anime Mr. Kinne stole the cover artwork from. I believe they call it “plagiarism”.

  12. Ray P Says:

It resembles Dirty Pair but it may just be the cat-girls.

  13. Tag Wizard Says:

@Teat Wood @Boobliomancer – A close examination of the GSS TCP (Tag Control Protocol) stipulates that, in the absence of cover-artist supplied teat shields, space sheep are not required for non-papillial boob display regardless of the species of the female, human, catperson, or indeterminate.

The question remains whether this is a gibberish title or not.

  14. NGpm Says:

I didn’t think this could have more of a “All your base are belong to us” feel … and then fred goes and wins the internet with the part 2 find. Good show SIR!

  15. Tom Noir Says:

    Actual official plot description:

In the year 2032, because of their corruption and self-destructive course, Humanity is all but wiped out by the Skendri, a species that Humans themselves had created. 5000 years later, Prince Krell, ruler of the Slaadikaar Holy Order, is attempting to negotiate the return of the rest of his people to their ancestral home. Political and territorial divisions with the Skendri Confederation keep tensions high. Religious strife between the monotheistic Slaadikaar and the polytheistic people of the Nihanese Empire erupts into outbreaks of terrorism. Prince Krell’s trusted top-ranking Admiral Dormuz, who has own dreams of Empire, secretly manipulates events so as to start an all-out war. Win or lose, the war will cause the downfall of Krell and place Dormuz himself upon the throne…or so he thinks. However, when the war doesn’t go as planned, Admiral Dormuz makes a Faustian deal with an ancient race named the Guareg. Now, all sides in the conflict may pay the ultimate price of Dormuz’s ambitions…

  16. B. Chiclitz Says:

@Tug Lizard—yes, gibberish title away, Sir, but where is the Smirky McSmug tag? Smirky McSmugness is written all over this cover!

  17. Perry Armstrong Says:

    … and featuring:

    – Asian Empress Stereotype Smurf
    – Turban Wearing Stereotype Smurf
    – G.I. Jane Smurf
    – Awkward Wonder Twins Smurf(s)

  18. Perry Armstrong Says:

I feel for Gorn Al Bundy (top right), lamenting the lost glory days when he took on Starfleet’s finest!

  19. infoqueen Says:

    Eurovision in Spaaaace!

  20. Tom Noir Says:

Remember authors, if you draw your own cover art you get your name on the cover TWICE!

  21. Tag Wizard Says:

@B. Chizzlipz – appropriate tags have been added.

  22. lctwice Says:

Cat lady running her sword through brunette woman’s skull. Marshmallow man doing a Russian dance on top of center lady’s hat. Ting after ting after ting.

  23. JRDelirio Says:

@Anna T. – several issues of those “How to Draw Manga” books that don’t actually teach you how to draw anything

  24. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

To be kind, there’s not a lot of cover artists that are allowed as much space for their names on the cover as the authors’.

Though given some of the covers on the site, that’s often a blessing.

  25. DaveM Says:

The Slaadikaar War by Kevin Kinne
Adapted from the manga “The earth K saga” by Kevin Kinne, which was based on the original story by Kevin Kinne.
“Heroic male character who is irresistible to women and has lots of sex” may be considered an author avatar for Kevin Kinne.

All rights reserved by Kevin Kinne.
Original soundtrack by the Kevin Kinne experience available on Kevin Kinne records.

  26. Dead Stuff With Big Teeth Says:

Skendri vs. Skook. Who would win?

  27. Vyrmis Says:

THX: Clearly not every idea Miyazaki ever had. Where are all the trees to hug?

  28. A.R.Yngve Says:

I refuse to buy any book that doesn’t say “Printed, bound and distributed by [Author’s Name]” on the cover! Anything less would seem unprofessional.

  29. A.R.Yngve Says:

This just in: The Vatican has officially excommunicated the Anime Pope.

  30. L.B. Says:

I knew there was another game for the Phillips CDi planned!
